Upon further research I did find that what I assumed was a Philodendron "Florida Beauty" is actually a species variegated variety of a pedatum. The main difference between the two is the Florida beauty is a cross/hybrid of the Philodendron Squamiferum and Pedatum, while the variegated pedatum again is a species. You will also notice the difference in appearance of the petioles where the Florida Beauty will have a rough, bumpy texture and will show a deep red color while the variegated pedatum will have green petioles that are smooth in texture. It is said that the variegated pedatum is rarer than the Florida Beauty and is a bit hardier when it comes to tolerating more sun. I am a first time owner of one of these so I will be learning as I go and will share updates with you on what I find out about my beloved dream plant.

I'm like grandma at Christmas with the "don't rip the wrapping paper". I always save those brown paper plant sleeves to use again if / when I give propagations to people.

@@PictureMaria1 You definitely do have unbridled enthusiasm which is why I always enjoy your videos. And you were like a kid on Christmas morning. Yes, I do trades. Mostly I give away a lot of plants. Like most plant enthusiasts, I enjoy experimenting with propagation which leads to over crowding sometimes. I figure it's good karma to give plants to new plant people.
