Now I will get double the harvest which will save more money and the health benefit is huge. Seems store produce quality isn't like it used to be so I can have really fresh greens all the time. Your videos are amazing! I just watched 4 or 5 of them. Question: in your comparison video you scored Gardyn a 1 for maintenance but in this unboxing of the 3.0 system it seems that some of the issues have been resolved. I'm like you and like the look of gardyn the most, but admittedly would dread the cleaning as described for the 2.0 system. If you were to compare cleaning on 2.0 to 3.0 would you consider the improvements significant?
@plant4table
@plant4table Жыл бұрын
The 3.0 is a significant improvement from the 2.0. It is much easier to assemble and disassemble when it is time time for a deep clean. I think the 3.0 is worth it when it comes to the price difference.

Thank you for these videos!! I just discovered your page and have subscribed 🥳 I want to buy a Gardyn for my husband for Christmas...but then I read reviews on third party websites that make Gardyn sound absolutely horrible! 😦 But your videos have restored my faith that I should go ahead and buy one. My question is - do you (or anyone else reading the comments) have any personal experience with the customer service? I read that it's online only via email with no phone number to call. And people have said things break a lot. I really want one, but I'm nervous. 😬

Also, can you please make a video on how to make your own pods? I've never grown a vegetable in my life!! Haha. I made a video on how I used my own supplies here kzbin.info/www/bejne/rmqtmq1_o7Voh6c I have encountered Gardyn customer service 3-4 times in the past, and they got back to me pretty quickly (all within 24 hours). You can either email them or send them a chat message on Facebook. I prefer FB because I feel like I'm texting someone real time. But that is just a psychological thing, I guess 😅. I was skeptical like you in the beginning and it was even worse in my case because back then, no one did any review. So I took a leap of faith in the way, and I'm glad I did. Good luck!

Thank you for your videos. The thing I like least about my Gardyn is the seeping between the tubes. Do they connect the same?
@plant4table
@plant4table Жыл бұрын
The way the pieces twist together seems to be the same. I'm not sure if they have done anything to address that. I never had a leak though, just that nutrient builds up over time and becomes solid. Hence the cleaning.

I have always loved the look of the Gardyn, even before the 3.0. If I can only own 1 hydroponic system, I would pick a Gardyn, personally. iHarvest is great for plants that have huge root system like cucumbers. It really depends on what you want to grow. You can grow cucumbers in Gardyn too, just more root trimming.

@plant4table
@plant4table Жыл бұрын
I just looked it up. It seems to take up too much room. I'm not a fan of the 360 degree design because I like something compact to put against the wall. Also, the plants are beautiful to look at, no need to cover them up. Also, Aerospring is a lot more expensive than the Gardyn.

how do you like this new one compared to your iharvest? Do you think it will be easier to clean than the iharvest?
@plant4table
@plant4table Жыл бұрын
Even before the 3.0, I like my Gardyn a little bit better than iHarvest just because of the look, and thats just my personal preference. Cleaning wise, I still think the iHarvest takes less time to clean because the pieces are big. But the flip side is that you can't take everything apart and soak in a sink like you can with the Gardyn, sink iHarvest parts are bulky. It all depends on how you prefer to clean and what you want to grow. When in doubt, get both 😅

Hello..is there an APP that works with the unit? Are the pods expensive? Does the lights go on and off?
@plant4table
@plant4table Жыл бұрын
Yes, you can schedule the light and pump as you like. The unit has preset schedule when you receive it. You don't need to purchase the membership for the app to work. The pod is expensive, $4.99 without membership. However, you can grow your own without purchasing anything from Gardyn. I made a video about that. When you purchase the unit, it comes with 30 pods.

Gardyn is as easy as Aerogarden, just more capacity. If you want to try out hydroponic to see how you like it before committing to something like Gardyn, I highly recommend Aerogarden Bounty basic model. @@plant4table Thanks. I got the answer from Gardyn and they do not recommend it: ------ Thank you for reaching out to Gardyn, we are happy to help! We do not recommend using softened water that is processed through a water softening system (typically installed at the household level). Most water softeners use sodium chloride, which can cause a gradual build-up of sodium in your Gardyn, hurting your plants. If you have a water softening system, we recommend using untreated municipal water in your Gardyn instead.

Not all soil has enough nutrients to grow vegetables. You have to add compost/fertilizer, battle with the pests, battle with the wild lives... When the soil is bad, you have to build raise beds, and again, add new soil and compost. When the winter comes, you have to put up a tunnel/green house. Not everyone is living in Florida and not everyone has land to grow their vegetables.
