I like Gareth and fully agree with his concern. However, what's the solution? If a club owner doesn't take dividends or extract from a club, which is what LFC do, how does a club generate more revenue? If revenue lines are maxing out on sponsorships, tv deals etc, and the players salaries are increasing way beyond inflation, how does the club finance this??? Tickets are targeted as the ticket prices aren't driven by the market which, for LFC, would sell at a much higher price, albeit to day trippers, not core fans. The same people complaining are often the same as those shouting to give Mo whatever he wants pw as he's so important. They don't understand how the club is being financially balanced and the challenges. Liverpool annual player salary is at about 120m per year (minus any lones going on) compared to a turnover of 600m plus the prize money they get depending on performance in different comps. Implying the couple of million made from increasing the ticket prices is necessary for Salah to have a 5-10% bump on top of his annual 18m pay is shilling for billionaires and is not born from this reality. But I agree season tickets need reworking across football.

The problem is Robbo for every fan that gets priced out there's dozens waiting in the wings. Hopefully they do something for home tickets similar to what they've got going on for away tickets, or if not that at least freeze prices for a few years.
@ashleymcnally617224 күн бұрын
3 of the main reasons for the ticket prices... 1) Stadiums costs - Some clubs have new stadiums/stands that need to be paid for and clubs see ticket prices as an easy way to do that as they know somebody will buy them regardless. 2) Player wages - They are constantly increasing. You're seeing bang average mid-table quality players getting £150k-250k a week at Man United, Chelsea (the latter on 7-9 year contracts) etc. You can't have certain people saying we should pay Mo Salah pretty much whatever he wants and then turn round and complain when ticket prices go up by a few quid. For ticket prizes to be frozen or even reduced, players in Mo Salah's situation would either need to be sold sooner or be told to leave at the end of their contract. Then those same fans complain again. 3) Owners - They don't have an emotional connection to the club or area. Their connection is money based. If a local guy owned a club, you wouldn't see this level of increase.

Because that there is no demand in Adelaide for more than $10 a month. The price in based on the demand in the country and what the market will bear. Hi demand low supply in england for epl on tv the prices will go up cause that's what happens in economics. In Canada you'd have low demand and high supply and prices will fall. Same in the US and almost any country with a lower interest in the EPL.

@@derred723 EPL is massive in Australia. Many Europeans live here especially Brits. Clubs are packed at 2am in the morning to watch EPL games. When Liverpool played in Melbourne for a friendly, attendance was over 100,000. There pricing out young local lads, lads who bring the atmosphere, who know every song, get rowdy when things go wrong or right for the team. Not tourists who come for the day out and blow £100’s on merch. he’s talking about local working class people.
@SteviG9Ай бұрын
@MASO204 was I disputing that? Or was I just mentioning that the two talksports presenters did noy know how much tourist pay to come and watch a game live? Gareth Roberts knows. Are you clear now, do you understand what I said, or do you want to watch the video again and read my comment again?

@@SteviG9 you’re not the demographic this whole campaign is about. It’s out pricing young people who are local and still can’t afford to go

Agree completely with what's being said, but it's all a bit emperors new clothes, there will probably be people protesting tomorrow who are demanding the club pay Salah, VVD and Trent what they want! Not totally single them players out, but when they're all demanding 100ks plus a week, why are they getting off the hook?

call it out for what it is the players wages, my team villa one weeks wages for the club covers 6 sold out home games, man u its 11 sold out home games and am sure there others with similar numbers, so if players took one weeks less wages tickets could be so far cheaper.

Had a paper round when I was 13, got paid about £3 a week. Got to watch the reds in the Kop for £2 with that 'wage'. Not sure what a paper round would pay now (and I know paperounds are non existent now) but let's say at best, and taking inflation into consideration, a paperboy would earn £15 a week now? Whatever. A kid nowadays, like I was, would need a paper round job paying at least £50 a week to be able to get into the game. The financial sacrifices the supporters make are way beyond my remit. And, that young paperboy who never missed a game in the late 80's and early 90's has not been able to get to Anfield since, because he's been cynically priced out. Well in Gareth and everyone else, no matter which club they support, for trying to do something about this.

So are players wages…business costs incurred keeping high salaried players and agents costs the fan it’s that simple…what do you want?…don’t go if you disagree with the prices!! Banners saying give Mo the dough to keep him ups your ticket prices!!…it’s a business.

Cap footballers wages first then ticket prices will come down

So don't buy tickets, give the rest of us a chance to go to matches. In fact, give up your season ticket so I can have one. We have a much bigger problem with the 3pm blackout than stadium ticket prices. "Lets just stop putting them up" - nice, lets not pay for things, go bust and have the reform in the conference - you're right, that'll definitely fix ticket prices. Same fans complaining about LFC not paying Salah "whatever he wants" by the way.

i went for years, 80s into the 00s. i got priced out when it was costing me £50 to go the game. ticket, travel, a pie and a coffee at half time. i was taking home £60 a day back then. today that same match day exp costs £100 and the average person in the nw is taking home £80 a day.

I mean where i live there are no sports that you can go to for as low as 30£. I mean on average a ticket price in my country is the equivalent of 80£ minimum. British honestly don't realize how cheap their biggest sport actually is.
