ICONIC - Cityscape, Street & Landscape Photography in London.
The plan was to meet two friends in the incredible Capital city of London to attempt some street photography during the day, and capture what looked to be a stunning Cityscape photography opportunity in the evening!
The street photography side took a back seat sadly due to work commitments by one of the chaps so we focused on finding a nice location for sunset (and a pub haha).
Id always wanted to capture a nice skyline shot of London and even tho i often work in the city i rarely have chance! i was so thrilled to see how the sky was looking and was super excited for the amazing evening ahead! I was super happy about the weight of the mirror less Fujifilm X-H1 as with the three lenses, drone, vlog gear and tripod it would have been a tough walk! :-)
i hope you enjoy our trip! i adore London and cant wait to re-visit to photograph more of the iconic buildings!

Been subscribed to your channel for a year or more now, and i have to admit that over the past 6 months i have not watched many youtube photographers at all, so i missed a lot of video updates to those channels i am subscribed to, but one of your london videos came up as a recommendation and i thought, why not! First of all, great to see someone else who loves london as much as me, coming from sleepy norfolk, london is like stepping into an alternate reality for me, the buzz there really gets to me, the vibe is always good. London may have its issues but for the most part it is still one hell of a city to explore and get lost in. Really enjoying these vlogs, some fab images too!

Great shots Gareth. I thought the B/W one focused the eye more into bridge and buildings, while the colour one gave a better sense of the overall, um, colourfulness of the scene. You've got a good feel for the street stuff too. Nice one

Cracking video, Gareth. I prefer the colour versions of both photos you asked us about. As much as I love the solitude of landscape photography in rural areas, I enjoy London equally. I don’t take my camera, though. I’m self-conscious when there are people around. I can’t imagine standing on the central reservation like you did. Mind you, it was worth it - your composite image is a belter. Thanks for sharing.

Great video, I worked for a while in Bermondsey so it brought back memories. I think Bermondsey was the haunt of the Richardson's gang, rather than the Krays. For me the colour image on Tower Bridge was the better.

6:51 Maybe try stacking (similar to focus stacking). IE: take a shot exposed for the boats at a fast enough shutter speed then stack in post processing and erase the boat you don't want revealing the boat you do want.

I sank the boats!! That made me laugh but have to say really improved the image! I work in London 2/3 days a weeks so used to this cityscape but never really get chance to shoot it. I did take a day off last year and did a photography walk around London and loved it! Ended up at Tower Bridge also for a long exposure night shot. Prefer the colour images, def with the sunsets - really nice mate. Whats the tripod leveller? Is it a universal fit, as need one for mine also

Hi Gareth. You've captured some cracking images here. Love your enthusiasm. I've no desire to do cityscapes (and definitely not in London. Used to go there a couple of times a month with work and really don't miss it !!) but I enjoyed your video. The superb sunset images definitely look better in colour in my humble opinion, especially with the boats erased!! Well done for doing something different - bet you learned loads. P.S.
