Gareth - I've been travelling overseas (150+ trips) these past 45 years - and I have to say, your videos are 'hands down', the best for those who want to get the lay of the land, that I have ever seen. Great job. I enjoy and appreciate your easy manner, zero-bullshit reviews, and personal style. I always make 'pre-travel' notes on my destinations - and add to them post-travel. Many of them, now include links to some of your relevant videos. Thanks from 'downunder'!

I’m glad you got to try out the sleeper train! It’s something that I don’t usually recommend unless travelers have a lot of time on their hands (since it’s so easy to fly and the sleeper train is fairly expensive), but it is a cool way to experience traveling by rail in Egypt.

So you just walked into the train station and booked the tickets a couple days ahead of time? Was there any issue with availability? I want to take the train, but because there isn’t a way for non-Egyptians to book them ahead of time, I’m unsure if I should just book a plane ticket instead.
