3 FUN FACTS ABOUT THIS EPISODE: 👇 1. El Nido Restaurant originally shipped in their herd of deer from New Zealand. 2. Puerto Nuevo gets its name from a giant Newport Cigarette Billboard that served as a landmark for people to meet between Tijuana and Ensenada. 3. According to Chewy (final blooper), Puerto Nuevo sells more lobster than anyone else in the world. Bonus Reminder: Visit simplisafe.com/gareth to check out SimpliSafe's award-winning home security!

The story behind that taco Perron is that a client came in to the taco stand , and had him prepare a taco with cheese and the beans , and the cliente said that taco esta Perron that’s why their called tacos perrones.

For anyone unfamiliar with Mexico or who hasn’t had the pleasure of exploring within its borders, I’d like to share a few tidbits specifically about its cuisine that I noticed while watching these border hop-across videos. The main thing that stuck out to me were the tortillas. Although flour tortillas are more or less found anywhere in the country, they are overwhelmingly preferred in the northern states with freshly handmade oversized ones usually provided to share at the dinner table like shown in the videos. Practically everywhere else it’s the opposite with corn tortillas overwhelmingly consumed over flour (my personal preference being corn as well). I felt like I should clear that up for anyone with dietary restrictions looking to travel further south into the country as to not be misled. If you’re just more of a picky eater and have decided that corn tortillas are “just not your thing”, chances are you’ve; A) been regularly served gross and gritty corn ‘tillas that were poorly/improperly reheated. B) have never experienced them freshly cooked. C) have never eaten them along with an authentic Mexican meal or in the form of delicious street tacos. Or, D) All of the ARRIBA! Absolutely no shame in lack of knowledge or real authentic experiences. As long as you get your pretty little behinds down south of the border at some point and come with an open mind and empty stomachs. You won’t regret it or I’ll buy you one ☝️ (1) [un] authentic Mexican street taco of your choice. But may I suggest the Al Pastor.

I stayed a lot at Las Rocas- it was new then. Rosarito got too crazy with drunken gringos on the weekends and too much development and crime so I have not been for a long time.I enjoyed the video.

When I first visited Puerto Nuevo, the local fishermen converted the downstairs of their houses to serve the lobster dinner once they tealized the grinhos liked them.It was $5! Back in the 80's.Today most of the lobsters come from Honduras.I visited Honduras ( on a scuba trip to Roatan) and saw the fishing fleet that exports the lobsters.I think Maine and many other places would object to Puerto Nuevo area being called the lobster capital of the world.LOL!

Oh my Rosarito, Baja Mexico 🇲🇽 one of my favorite places. Close to home not bad of a drive. We have a town house out there so it’s nice. El Nido is yummy!! Lobster 🦞 capital. Those are the tortillas are like my mom’s homemade ones. ❤ Puerto Nuevo is a great place to go when you are there.
