Oh my goodness that 40 port USB thing! I appreciate this video. I'm a new Doxie SE owner.

When the battery goes bad on this scanner you can no longer use it. It needs a good battery. My battery went bad and now I can't even connect it to my computer. It is not the best. I would like to see if there is a better scanner out there honestly. Doxie GO SE should be able to plug in to a computer and scan without a battery, but it doesn't.

Great video, but no discussion about the quality of the photo scans.
@ReeWrayOutdoors5 жыл бұрын
Fair point! I did talk about it in my other Doxie review video, so I guess I didn't think to cover it again. But the gist is that I think it scans photos reasonably well for archival purposes...but it you're intent is to ever want to reprint photos from digital scans, you'd probably be best served using a dedicated photo scanner.

Did I miss something? Why didn't the software show any of the stuff you literally just scanned?
@ReeWrayOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
I'm actually surprised you're the first one to notice that! It wasn't intentional on my part, but really I was just trying to show how fast it scans various kinds of documents during the scanning part. Then in the software, I was trying to keep it simple and just show a couple of examples (photo and color text/graphics) and what the edit options are. But I can totally see how that mis-match would cause an attentive viewer to question what just happened. :)

Can you show scanning a photo on a Sandisk. Then taking Sandisk and putting it either in a digital picture frame or smart tv. I don’t plan on using computer just putting on sandisk card.

I am having trouble finding the photos on my Dell Pc. Also I want to connect the doxie to my iphone but I'm having trouble doing that. Help.
@KayoMichiels24 күн бұрын
When you import the scanned items from the scanner, it's saved internally in the software, you have to select the scan you want, click on the Save button on the bottom right, it opens a list of options and then select the output format you want, it then opens a window sking where to save the formatted file to. It does that to keep the original scanned as the main copy instead of runing the risk of losing detail and quality by every subsequent file format.

Thank you for your reviews on Doxie. Would you say the WiFi version function would be worth it since New MacBook Pros do not have SD slots or regular USB ports?
@ReeWrayOutdoors4 жыл бұрын
Hmmm I think if it were me, I'd put the extra $70 you'd have to pay for the wifi version of the Doxie Go SE towards a USB-C hub that has USB ports and an SD Card slot. At least that way, you'd get some additional functionality for the money.

I have a scansnap and was looking at these doxie as replacement, from what I see there are a few draw backs. The software doesn't auto correct scewed or slanted scans? Not Duplex? Scansnap scans as PDF and ocr converts on the fly. I like the way it feeds and the rechargeable battery wifi etc. but the extra messing about after scanning not worth it i think.
@doxiemobilescanners48694 жыл бұрын
Hi there! Doxie’s software automatically tries to crop and de-skew (straighten) scans to eliminate blank areas - to avoid getting skewed scans, we strongly suggest using Doxie's built-in paper guide and holding your original until scanning starts. Can you import as a JPEG instead of a PDF?
@ReeWrayOutdoors Жыл бұрын
The Doxie Go SE actually imports natively as JPG and then you have the option to export it as a PDF in the Doxie app. This video is fairly dated at this point (one of my earliest videos haha), but I still use the Doxie Go SE regularly, and it's been a great quick scan option for me. I used it this morning, in fact!

If I plan to print my photos later. Is this scanner going to be able to scan in the quality I need?
@ReeWrayOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
honestly, I'd probably consider this scanner suitable for photo archival purposes, but probably not if you want close-to original quality for reprints. For that you're going to want a dedicated photo scanner probably.

Can it scan ID cards? Like a driver’s license?
@ReeWrayOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
It will scan ID Cards, but I've noticed that some (especially thicker ones) need a little 'thumb assistance' during the feed to ensure they don't get hung-up. So...not the best for that sort of thing, but do-able.

Can you use this with an iPad?
@ReeWrayOutdoors3 жыл бұрын
Doxie does has an IOS companion app - the caveat is that you need to have the WiFi version of the Doxie Go SE in order to use the app: amzn.to/3dck66Q the alternative, I suppose is to just get an SD Card reader for the iPad and pull files over manually and edit them as necessary with a 3rd party utility. So, might be worth the extra $40 for the WiFi version in your case?
