I love how at the 4:20 mark Larry has this look of pure disbelief that he is seeing live what John is putting down....amazing!

Miles Davis said John is the greatest jazz guitarist of all-times. I don't argue with that[laugh]! Larrys' great and, he was Dimeolas' big idol and, that says something and, Pacos' solo is tremendous but, that look Larry gave John, man! Yah, Johns' freakin crazy he's just in the outer limits. Nobody's deeper than John has done more, he was the one who came up with the guitar trio idea and, he played with the indians, he even wrote and, performed a classical guitar concert with the london symphonic orquestra which he composed called 'concert for the mediterrenian'. He's done it all. I use to say and, still say no one knows more scales on the guitar than Mc'laughin, could be. 3 great guitarists together. A treasured moment. Nothing like seeing greats together.

Johns' crazy. I loved Larry and, his scales were always sort of like Mc'laughlins but, John was the father of fusion guitar and, I don't think there's ever been anyone like John in the jazz guitar world. Johns' experimented more than any other jazz guitarist. The stuff Al Dimeola was doing years later John had done way back. Larry was Als' idol and, teacher. Larry was one of the real nice guys too, God rest his soul, he was one of the greatest that ever was.
