Heroes' Bane's initial power: 8 First Bane activation: +16 = 24 Second Bane activation: +48 = 72 Monument trigger: +2 = 74 Third Bane activation: +148 = 222 Fourth Bane activation: +444 = 666 Fifth Bane activation: +1332 = 1998 Sixth Bane activation: +3996 = 5994 So, there you go... Max was hit so hard he should start the next ten games at 1 life to recover.

You had me at ‘Gargos’. He was the first commander I built around :) and hero’s bane is a powerhouse. With that setup activated 4 times, I believe he would have gone from a 74/74 (after monument trigger) to a 222/222, then to a 666/666, a 1998/1998 and finally to a 5994/5994, with trample, lol that’s awesome

Awww yeah, Gargos. One of my favorite tribal commanders to be released in the last few years. For the dude who built it, look into Terrifying Presence, Invigorate, and Primal Bellow. Terrifying Presence has swung games hugely in my favorite multiple times and Primal Bellow just ends the game in the later turns alone.

That's easily the most impressive Gargos deck I've ever seen! My buddy tried to make a Gargos deck but it didn't work out for him so he scrapped it and ended up making a Ramos deck.

I built Gargos enchantress and it is hands down my favorite deck ATM. Most of the time it’s just a good stomps deck, but about 1/5 games I draw my entire library and get all my lands into play. Traverse the outlands into bear umbra is one hell of a drug.

Nope it's 5994/5994 because it is a 72/72 with a +2/+2 trample buff and he activates it 4 four times. Not forgetting the Doubling season this gets the hydra 74*3^4

God bless Doubling Season. One of the best things i've ever read about was someone using Opalescence to make Doubling Season into a creature, and then enchanting it with Followed Footsteps. A few turns later there were more tokens in play than there are known atoms in the observable universe 😂😂 things got super crazy.

Ending power is 5994. Starts as a 74 from buff with monument and gets its power doubled and added to it's own. So after 1st activation it's power is 222 from (74x2)+74 = 148+74=222 we do this 3 more times (X×2)+X where x is initial power. You get 444 counters the 2nd time, total being 666. 3rd time is 1332 plus 666 being 1998, and finally 4th is 3996 plus 1998 for a total of 5994 power with trample.

There was a misplay in the game where you fought your hydra with the vigor. Vigors triggered ability when it hits the graveyard you shuffle it back into the library. On the next turn the estrid player should not have been able to get back the vigor with the eternal witness. I hope I was not the only one to catch this.

Cool video/game as always. I love your show! I love your channel, but you still have potential to grow even bigger. Please don't get me wrong, I don't want to teach you or talk badly about you, but support you with a few easy tips. But to perfect your video quality, you should make the cards in the middle a little bigger and especially extend the time in which the big card is displayed. Keep the card large until someone plays another card, is attacking someone or is activating an effect / trigger. This will help your audience watching/understanding and following your show, because there are enough people out there, who don't know the names, effects etc. of every of the over 20 000 MTG played cards. The Vigor should have been shuffled back into his library. Also Vines of Vastwood does not give Hexproof, as you can cast it on an opponent's creature and it prevents that creature from being targeted by spells or abilities that that opponent controls.

It's a delayed effect. The mana you tap to remove Vorinclex will not untap. Part of what makes it very obnoxious.

I have a question regarding an interaction with Gargos that I don't understand and can't find anything online about it. If you have Gargos on the board and cast Setessan Tactics, and pay the Strive cost 3 times, would that result in Setessan Tactics triggering Gargos 4 times? I'm assuming it does with how Gargos is worded with "Whenever A creature you control is targeted by a spell," since Setessan Tactics would technically be targeting 4 of your creatures, right?

Huge mistake of Estrid's player using eternal witness to return vigor to his hand. If he had chosen cyclonic rift, things could be different

You did pretty good for a borrowed deck. A couple of misses: 5:20 Missed an Ulvenwald Tracker activation, could have used Gargos to snipe Karrthus or something else on Seb's board. Only major effect would probably have been Dom being at a higher life though. 12:28 Could have activated Nissa after playing Doubling Season, putting her to 8. It didn't end up mattering, but if Max hadn't used Cyclonic Rift, you could have used Nissa -7 next turn without losing her. 13:58 Again, should have dropped Doubling Season before Nissa, so she would come in with 6 and plus to 8 immediately. As it is, you only just missed the plus putting her up two counters on this turn and the next. Don't forget that Doubling Season applies to ALL counters! Loved seeing Gargos though. I built Gargos Fight Club right when he came out, a version with maximum fight triggers (less focus on hydras). Deck was a blast to play as long as you got the proper ramp and weren't steamrolled by faster decks. Also, as you saw, Vigor is by far the most powerful card in the deck. One of Gargos' weaknesses is that he has problems against bigger creatures, and Vigor turns this weakness into a strength.

Nissa would not be at 8 Doubling season rule : Planeswalkers will enter the battlefield with double the normal amount of loyalty counters. However, if you activate an ability whose cost has you put loyalty counters on a planeswalker, the number you put on isn’t doubled. When you're playing bant control and still get shafted that's when you know your deck needs retooling. If your win-con is sandwurm convergence, that's a good place to start.

Soo. I'm not trying to be mean/or boast or anything...but Max's plays confused me hard. Eternal witness for NOT cyclonic rift? A mask token on a token creature? I can go on but since I have an estrid deck that I feel is basically as good as it can get, I ended up focusing on his plays more than the other decks. Still these are only a few examples...there were more things but can't be bothered to rewatch.

A few times you cast green creatures whole both Gargos, and Rhonas' Monument were on the board, but made a point to say the were reduced by only 4, but doesn't Rhonas add 1 as well? Example at 12:41, you cast Genesis for 4, does it not default to 5?
