The rumors I heard is they were planning instead of a direct live action remake of the original story, they would change it to the story being about Elisa, all the other gargoyles but Goliath is dead and Goliath is by himself in the modern day, except he would be a side character in his own story while Elisa deals with her relationship issues. After the repeated disasters coming out of disney in the last 10 years I'm convinced they would botch this all for 'modern day interests'

Goliath admitted many times he was nothing without his clan. Its called Gargoyles not the Gargoyle. Disney should have made a live action film already, what they need to do is make an animated revival where the original canon left off or adapt some of the many planned spinoffs. Seriously, Gargoyles is concrete proof Disney is poorly run.
