It should have resulted in a conviction within six months. But Judge Cannon, a last-minute appointment of Trump when he was president the first time got the case. She allowed every delay. She ruled in Trump's favor all the time and even added her own favortism. The Supreme Court also got involved and further delayed that trial. The DOJ filed responses always within a day or two. They fought like crazy. Cannon recently dismissed the case for no reason, and then Trump was voted president. The DOJ filed the January 6 and election interference case against Trump on August 1, 2023, so 15 months ago. Trump got delays and then got the Supreme Court involved. They delayed it and then went on a break, further delaying a decision. They ruled that Trump could not be tried or convicted of anything he did as his duties as president. The DOJ went through and rewrote the entire case. They resubmitted it to a new grand jury and were allowed to go forward. They asked for and received permission to file an extra lengthy complaint, 80 pages long. They then submitted 1,300 pages of evidence to the court. The judge would not allow any delays and was moving the case forward quickly. Then Trump was voted in. The DOJ is currently writing a Report that should be submitted to the public. They won't have Bill Barr there to lie about what is in the report like he did with the Mueller Report. They tried everything they could to get convictions.

As a Floridian, let me assure you that we are ALL wondering this! Two petitions made the rounds last year (I signed one) demanding that the 11th get off their asses. The chief judge released an angry memo saying _No More Of This._ It's incredibly frustrating. Keep an eye out for the name of Dave Aronberg, former State Attorney for Palm Beach County and former Florida Senator. He provides a lot of interviews and coverage for MSNBC, and elsewhere, about Cannon and relevant local topics. You might have seen him in the news during the Trump golf course assassination attempt.
