Hello David. Nice presentation. I'm a J owner in Australia about to install a G3X and have opted for the GI-260 indicator above the panel in my peripheral vision instead of viewing it on the monitor. Can you please tell me how you attached the unit to the centre steel support. Did Garmin supply the bracket or did your installer create one? It is a great idea. Victor

Hi M20, thanks for the comment. I installed it on the center support for just that reason - keep it in peripheral vision and I’m glad I did. It’s perfect there for both instrument and visual approaches. It’s especially handy when it’s gusty on landings. I just watch it out of the corner of my eye and keep the runway ahead in site. I can instantly tell if I need speed or attitude adjustments with even caring about airspeed indication. It really helps you focus on a stable approach. We made a custom mount, it was super easy.
