Hey Martin! Great to see you again! Looks like you're getting fitter! The DJI camera definitely seems a little less crisp! Keep pushing!

Thanks Paul, aye the fitness is certainly getting better, I'm mixing things up more going forward including exercises, biking & walking to aid my running, it's good to be doing more again 😁 There are some specific reasons why I went for the DJI, you'll find out in another video 😉

Ive been following the suggested workouts as well. Mine are set to use pace instead of heart rate. It's less frustrating, but you can tend to push the effort a bit harder than ideal, on hilly routes. I think your heart rate settles down after 10 or 15 minutes so that might explain how yours went lower when you stepped up the pace mid run. Camera looks spot on mate. Good choice 👍🏻

We're all at it with these suggested workouts, Jake's doing them as well! I was using the pace suggestions for a wee while but I'm pretty focused on trying to control my heart rate if I can, I just think it'll take a little perseverance. You're right about the settling heart rate after 10/15 mins, I need to do 15 mins on the treadmill before I head out the door 🏃‍♂️ It's never straightforward is it 🤪

Hi Martin, nice to see you back 😊. I compared the video frames... I haven't seen big differences... maybe the only one I noticed is the background with the DJI looks a bit less defined ... but I might be wrong and also light conditions could be different. Anyhow nice video as always 😊👍

Thanks Stelvio, I wouldn't say there are massive differences & you're right, the change in lighting in certain scenes will have made a difference. I do have several reasons why I opted for DJI over GoPro but that's for another video 😉

Yo Mart, nice to see you and Jake. I thought the DJI images were like 3d....they jumped out of the screen more than the Go Pro. Chow for now.😉

That's another vote for DJI then, I'll have to watch what I'm filming if I'm jumping out of the screen at folks 😂

It's always a pleasure to see a new video up. I like the new DJI footage a bit better. I too have followed my watch (Polar) workouts. Time and distance, pace etc. are easier to follow than heart rate based workouts. A good warm up helps to settle your heart rate (your already know that) so sometimes my heart rate for the first bit of my workout isn't within the right zone. Overall, I prefer exercise than training, and free running to following a workout. Nevertheless there is a place for following a training program and I found having the watch program was a bit of a motivator. Additionally, as you stated, it seems most/all watch programs are geared for road running, not trail running, so that's another issue. Lastly, if you are looking for a summer/hot video topic, I'm a fan of running clothing that breaths especially clothing that is designed to ventilate. I don't know the terminology but shirts and shells with mesh or holes etc. to increase the rate of ventilation, call is passive or physical or mechanical ventilation??? So what are the coolest hats, shirts, shells and even bottoms/pants/tights and shoes.

Thanks Brian, I'm also liking the DJI footage & it'll definitely perform better over the winter months! I must admit I prefer free running as well but I'm wanting to stick with the workouts for a while to see if I can improve things, there's a lot to improve 😂 I've actually just ordered 'Training for the uphill athlete', so I'm throwing the kitchen sink at getting back to long runs in the future & improving in my general fitness. Thanks for the video ideas, the lightweight breathable clothing is a good topic! 👍

Wow new camera. I watched it with a dodgy internet connection so will need to wait for a better one before commenting on picture quality. Funnily enough I just got a new GoPro 10. Still trying to get my head round the settings.

I noticed you'd been away, far far away! With your GoPro 10, wack it on 4k & make sure your super boost is on 👌 Enjoy the hols 😀

Great video. The Lone Peaks are great but I only use up to 10K. I have a few version 4 & 5. I am just too heavy. I like the Olympus the best or Speedgoat 5

Thanks Richard, I've also been using the Lone Peaks for shorter runs, I'm actually surprised at how much I like them!

I prefer the DJI footage. I moved from GoPro Hero 4 to DJI Pocket 2 Osmo. I know they’re not really in the same category - the GP was ok on my motorbike trips but really limited record time. I find the DJI to be a much better handheld. 4K too ☺️ Wayne

Cheers Wayne, I'm enjoying the change from GoPro, there are some great features with the DJI, and changing things about keeps things fresh as well 😀

I def like the DJI Action 4 better - richer, creamier colors. What settings did you use for your OsmoAction 4?
@TheDeterminedRunner
@TheDeterminedRunner Ай бұрын
4k, 30fps (usually) & Rocksteady (I've recently stopped using Rocksteady +, as the crop is tighter & Rocksteady alone is stable enough).
