I'm working on it, but it's not easy. Explore website maps is clunky. Thanks for watching.

BMW Navigator users have it easy. Garmin Smartphone Link is the only compatible application. Oh, wait...😞 On a very positive note, your Basecamp tutorials are time well spent. I learned a lot. Garmin recently released an update. It's nice to know they are still maintaining it, even if it is only bug fixes. Last, but by no means least, I hope your wife is either fully recovered, or well on her way to being fully recovered.

Awesome Tim. Although your intention was to simplify things you now have given me a lot of further research to do. My xt is hooked up to wifi and bt on the phone but i dont run the drive app. After checking the phone i seem to have the garmin connect app. Im not sure where i picked that up from. Maybe it was for my nav 5, 595 or whatever i had before that. I was also thinking of getting an inreach but now i might be lazy and juat keep pating for my sat phone to keep things simpler. Thanks again for your video

Unless you have a wearable or if the nav 5 / 595 need Connect, you can remove it. If you activate Drive, you'll get traffic notifications and be able to see the weather radar. I like those features. Also, I just watched a video that shows how you can share a gpx file to the Drive app, then Drive will put it on your XT. Thanks for watching.

@@EZMotoTim thanks for the tip re sharing gpx files. That is exactly the reason I would use drive . Cheers

And Garmin wonders why phones and apps are taking over the navigation market. Your explanation was great, but the Garmin world is just to confusing and far from user friendly.
