Is there a way to create a route, search for gas stations along the route, add them, and save the route? I have tried in a number of ways, but I can only add gas stations closest to the starting point or to the arrival point. Nothing in between. Using a drivesmart 86. Thanks for this video, by the way. Informative and to the point.

1. Settings, Navigation, GPS Simulator. 2. Apps, Route Planner, select existing route, Go!, select beginning of route, OK, Start, "No" to Simulate driving this route. 3. Tap map outside of vehicle icon, magnifying glass icon, gas station icon. When the map is still (as in when not moving it around), blue dots will appear for gas stations present along the route. 4. Follow your route until you see a gas station where you want to stop, touch the blue dot representing it, then Go!, then Add to Active Route. 5. On next screen select the position in your route where you want the stop to be, then Save, then No to not simulate. 6. Repeat process until the route is the way you want. 7. While route is still in effect: Apps, Route Planner, My Active Route, Save, name it. Done.

Above the "Stop and Shaping" at say the 6:25 minute mark is a black line with the word Add in it. What does that mean ... I've tried to click it and nothing happens

I don't see a "reverse the route option".... so in your example you get to Dallas and now you want to take the same route in reverse back to your original starting location. Is there a way to duplicate the route and have it in reverse other than have to physically drag the order of each waypoint from top to bottom.

How many stops can you add on this?

Hello! Great live information sir!!! I think probably I can see the answer for my question. May be I missed something in your review and my question is: can I hold my finger on the map and select that location for my destination? Like we do on our smartphones. For example. We hike a lot and I see great spot, spot near some road but that location has no physical address that I cat type into Garmin. But I want to go directly to that location. I hope you understand my point? Thank you very much in advance!!!

does this model provide live traffic & alternate route suggestions to save drive time, like google/apple maps? i drive people to medical appointments for a living, and often need to take modified routes to make appointments on time. thank you for any input in this regard. my understanding is that you must pair the device to a smartphone app, but the whole reason i want to switch to a dedicated gps is to avoid battery drain from my mobile device every day

I cover this in the beginning of this video I made kzbin.info/www/bejne/hp28p3-XrtB3eZo but the short answer is yes you can receive traffic alerts and have the unit auto reroute around traffic _without the smartphone involved_ if a) you have a "full" DriveSmart 66 and not the cost-reduced DriveSmart 66 EX model, and b) you're in an area with traffic coverage. You can check the traffic coverage map to make certain your area is covered here coverage.here.com/rds-coverage.html

What is the maximum memory stick you can buy for these??.
@sat1039 ай бұрын
The DriveSmart 66 supports up to a 256GB microSD card, but you absolutely do not need anywhere near that amount storage in this model. 32GB is more than enough.

Does this unit let you "edit schedule" like the Nuvi 51? I used that feature to let customers know what time I'd be in their area. But I don't see this option on the 66.
@sat1035 ай бұрын
I could not find any way to edit a route schedule in the DriveSmart 66 Route Planner, sorry.

Hello, I have a question, I have a Garmin 61 LMT-S. When planning a route, it takes a long time to shape the route. It takes a long time to calculate how long the sections are. Is it possible to upload this menu to what you have? I'm waiting for your answer. If the route is 700 km long, I want to convert it. It takes a long time to calculate it.
@sat1037 ай бұрын
It is not possible to upload the DriveSmart 66 menu system into the 61.

Does this have optimization on this model?? Because I notice with later models it does, but this one does not??
@sat1032 жыл бұрын
If you mean the "Optimize Route" option, that's a traffic specific setting, and yes, the DriveSmart 66 has it.
@TommieGunz19922 жыл бұрын
@@sat103 Really, because I have the drive smart 76 model and I do route deliveries and it doesnt show the optimization feature. So when I put stops on my GPS, it gives me long back and forth trips instead on fuel efficient trips. Because on my old Garmin 65 (2019) model have the optimization feature

@@sat103 I tried that feature and it's still giving me the back and forth long distance route. If you can make a video on this I will surely appreciate
@sat1032 жыл бұрын
Okay I found it what it is you're referring to with the 65, "Optimize Order" (which is totally different compared to "Optimize Route") imgur.com/a/jAJ1hfQ This feature was removed in the 66.

Will this unit do traffic updates without a cell phone? And if it does must you subscribe to a pay service for it?
@sat10311 ай бұрын
Check to see if you are in a traffic coverage area here coverage.here.com/rds-coverage.html and if so, yes, traffic updates happen without the need for a cell phone, and yes, it's free.
