Yeah bro as an iPhone user the I watch is garbage af for battery life. Once they make it days long I'll come back. I'm not buying that elephant watch ultra. I look like a clown wearing that on my small medium wrist size

@@surferbois might be usefull to everybody when a smartwatch could measure heartproblems. a colleage has an apple watch which detected wrong heartbeats at night, she went to the doctor and he did some tests and found out there is a problem. Now she has to take pills. And she was in her beginning 40s. But also young ppl might have problems they dont know about. So yeah this can be a usefull tool for anybody 😊

They never will unfortunately. Look at the Venu. The ecg function was never released outside of the US.

There’s internal hardware as well but I’d certainly anticipate some new watches would get it but also would guess not all.

ECG comes with a big drawback. It activates permanent 2FA authentication on your account. Once ECG is activated, you can't disable the 2FA feature. Starting from there, 3rd party tools are not usable anymore. So, if you don't use 3rd party tools, that's OK but if you do, not sure activating ECG is a good idea.

@@alexevans0430 Strava for example. If 2FA is not enabled, it is possible to link Strava and Garmin connect together. If 2FA is activated, it is not possible to link them, when trying to do so, you get en internal server error. if Strava was already linked to Garmin Connect before 2FA was enabled, then it appears that the link between the two accounts remains active (however, I'm not sure if they sync yet). All in all, that means that if you buy a new Garmin watch with ECG capabilities and if you enable the ECG feature on Garmin Connect during setup, it will not be possible to link Strava to your Garmin account later on because once ECG has been enabled, 2FA become permanent and there is no possibility to disable it. I've just tried strava but chances are high that the same kind of problem will appear with other apps.

Gosh I use a 3rd party compass app I downloaded from the Garmin connect app 😞 I guess that app will not function anymore. Oh well back to having compass 🧭 on phone 😊

Just got a new Venu 3 today and after set up, that ecg app is NOWHERE to be found

Will it come to epix 2 models? Because they have the same sensor as the venu2+ . And the epix 2 also has a metal ring on top so it should be able to.

It will be 3 main things: dedicated LED flashlight, new HR sensor, and now ECG. Also 3 options for size. 👍

Hey mate, thanks for your great reviews. I'm a fan! I've purchased a garmin epix gen 2 sapphire, still sealed, for half the price of epix Pro 47 mm. Do you think I should exchange it for the Pro? My focus is the workout tracking!

The HR sensor is more accurate for activities like weight training and HIIT on the Pro but for steady state, cardio based activities the sensor on the Epix gen 2 works well.

After updating my Venu 3 watch to the latest firmware, I had to uninstall / reinstall the android Garmin connect app for the ECG to show up on the android phone.

I’m looking at either getting the Garmin fenix 6 pro or the forerunner 955. I want something that will be good for occasional backpacking with no service with a good battery life, but is also great for everyday wear and running with great navigation. Is the 955 good for all of these things or should I go with the fenix 6 pro?

It will likely be country by country so no matter what nation you're in, you'll have to search for news in the local language. Some countries follow US regulations while others don't but you can always put on a VPN for US on your smartphone then follow from there.

You need to update firmware and Garmin connect app to latest settings .Also ensure this is epix pro, not just epix model

Just got Venu 3. Can't figure out how to set up ECG. When I follow instructions that says to click on my watch in the connect app and then go to finish set up, I should get an option to set up ECG. But nothing there. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Do you have any thoughts on Garmin releasing a fenix 8 or epix 3? I’d prefer a 1,4 inch display on the epix 47mm (cuz it has the solar bezel from the fenix design) like the FR965.. but that watch has the 4th gen hr sensor so I’m kinda not buying both now 🥲

There is one reason for getting the Apple Watch. The Apple Watch constantly tracks your heart rhythm in the background whereas Garmin only track when prompted
