I was on the fence buying this Garmin 130 for $200, instead I found a Wahoo Elemnt Bolt Version 1 for $179 at my local bike shop. I'm so glad I did not degrade myself to this 130, their map is horrible and the buttons are wack to operate. The Wahoo Bolt is amazing, the maps are clear, precise and they have street names on them! I had a Garmin 520 and the map file corrupted it drove me nuts there was no map during my ride. Wahoo is so easy to work with the buttons are on top not at the button, theres LED lights on top to show if you are reaching your max heart rate or power it was a more enjoyable experience and the sound it makes reminds me of the good old days tomagachis.

Were you able to connect the Garmin 130 to the ebike ? To see data from the bike ?

Can you please provide what file format did you use for GPS navigation ? I cant achieve that pop up with turn arrow appear during riding . I have it enabled in menu but no turn alerts appear. I tried GPX and also FIT which I copied into GARMIN > NEW FILES folder. Track is there and shown on the screen but while riding no pop up with arrow. HELP me please
@pyreneesebike29553 жыл бұрын
Sorry for not answering! Did you solve it? You have to upload your GPX file to the Garmin Connect page (connect.garmin.com) and then you create a "Course". After this you can sync with your GPS and it will show up as a possible route!

Thinking of getting the 130 Plus. Does anyone know: What happens when (say) the route gets diverted... Can it help me zoom out to see ways to get back on the route? Will it reconvene once I'm back on?
3 жыл бұрын
As it doesn't have maps you will only see, and get notified, that you are off route. You can follow your own track back. Once on-route again it will keep navigating.

- - ARROWS SOLUTION - - Hi there! I have discover a solution for the problem when pop arrows don’t appear, I mean when the Garmin doesn’t give you the alert to turn before junctions (this system is called “turn-by-turn”, “giro a giro” in spanish). I just bought the Edge 130 plus and I had the same problem that I had readen from diferent users ans comments. Any or almost any arrow appeared during all the course. So following just the track-line was not very comfortable, and if you are in another display, you can’t see even that. I design routes in computer, and then send to phone and device. I realized that if I import a GPX file route from another App (Komoot in my case) to Garmin Connect, the line of the track is ok, more or less, but you lost the points “turn-to-turn” along the course. It was a big disappointment because I liked Komoot app and maps, it’s simple and clear, more that Garmin Connect. So now, I tried to design the same route directly just in Garmin Connect, from the beginning. Then, I send to the device and tried the route… and surprise! Now I had the arrows, the alert to turn before each junction. I had a lot of routes designed in Komoot, so I stand for a while and thought how could I do, because it would be a big work to design them again in Garmin Connect. So I tried and find another solution, a second one. In this case is not 100% perfect, because it has some light mistakes, but it could be ok if you don’t need perfection. I explain this method now. I took a route from komoot, and I went to Garmin Connect, like in the begining… but then, here, I created a pair of little changes, I moved some meters the start-point and the finish-point, and perhaps some point in the middle of the route, and save the file… and I send it to the device. Then I went to try with the bike, and surprise! Now it runs with arrows. I discovered little diferences or error but only in some point. And altitude data is diferent. So this could be a kind of medium solution, more or less, but not as perfect as create a route directly in Garmin Connect. I wish to had found and readen something like this before. At least, I’m happy to had discovered it and I hope to help many users with this now :) Have luck! Hugo, from Galicia (Spain).

@@pyreneesebike2955 Hi again, I continued investigating and testing... and I realized that if you export the GPX manually (in my case from Komoot), and then you import it in Garmin Connect... in stead of using auto-sinchro mode, so, this way, now arows appear, but I have a new problem now, altitude is not ok, and climb pro doesn't run... I tried to design routes directly in Garmin Connect, but the system is no so easy and doesn't create very well the tracks many times... I will continue trying...
