Erm, the 1040 is _80%_ bigger than the 840 not 35%. Almost 2x size.
@CyclingDude-kf1uu7 ай бұрын
edge 1040's dimension is 59.3 x 117.6 x 20.0 = edge 840's dimension is 57.8 x 85.1 x 19.6 If you do the math, 1040 is 1.447 as big as 840. So it's 44% bigger

@@CyclingDude-kf1uuI was talking about the screen. You said the 1040 display is 35% bigger but it actually is 80% bigger.
@CyclingDude-kf1uu7 ай бұрын
the screen sizes 1040: 59.3*117.6 840: 57.8 * 85.1 If you do the math, edge 1040 is 1.42 as big as 840. So it's 42% bigger

@@CyclingDude-kf1uu Wrong. Those are the case sizes not the screen sizes. Screen sizes (diagonal) are 2.6" (840) vs 3.5" (1040). 1040 is 80% more screen area
@haakonwibe93792 ай бұрын
@@michaelnewman880 That would be correct if the displays were the same aspect ratios, but the are in fact different, so the width and height area calculations for 2.6" and 3.5" don't apply directly to one another. But since the 840s screen resolution is 246x322 and an aspect of 0.764 and the 1040 a resolution of 282x470 and an aspect of 0.6, the correct calculation is: 840 area = 2.6^2 = (0.764)^2 + h^2 -> h = 2.07" -> 3.27 square inches area 1040 area = 3.5^2 = (0.6)^2 + h^2 -> h = 3.0" -> 5.4 square inches area Difference is (5.4 - 3.27) / 3.27 * 100 = 65.1 % larger

"Right, there are some rumors about the next-generation models coming out soon, lol. But I will be surprised if it's true, as there was a 4-year gap between the 30 series and the 40 series.
