I initially thought I'd get the Enduro 3 as an upgrade to my Forerunner 965. I needed more battery life for my longer races. In the end I went for the Fenix 8 51mm AMOLED which had the battery life I needed & I got to keep the AMOLED screen experience. My experience setting up the Fenix 8 was seamless with no glitches.

Wow.. yeah coming from the 5X plus 🤯 The Enduro 3 this is going to be a MASSIVE upgrade 😍 Yeah the audio directions were coming out of my phone but you can make them come out of your headphones or even just turn them off if they get annoying 🔥 I have used this watch for weights but I just record them as indoor cardio activities, have yours with the strength activity profile yet 🙏🏽 For golf you’ll have to wait, but I only ever hear great things about Garmin watches and golf. You’ll get your golf maps on there, a clever activity profile.. all the usual stuff 👊🏽

@@ActiveIdeas For me, coming from Polar M430, either Garmin ecosystem is really feature rich, or maybe its normal now and it was really time to change. I really like the morning info screens, body battery and sleep tracking, flaslight, battery life, etc. Particularly great is a feature I never saw anyone bring out. To make your own training. In the morning I have this training, where I do 30sec sets of pushups, sit-ups, shoulder circles with weights and squats, then repeat for how many sets I feel comfortable. I used to count and write down the repetitions to see my progress. So I used simple interval timer with aerobics activity on my Polar. On Garmin, you can actually create a custom training and it shows how and which muscles will be affected worked on and also counts repetitions by itself. Thats really cool. I am sure any Garmin watch can do it, I am just very happy that Enduro 3 can too.

Very good video. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have a microphone or speaker and that the buttons are not waterproof and the cover is plastic. I have an Enduro 2 and I'm delighted with the battery life, I love the MIP screen it has. I was thinking of buying the Enduro 3 this year because of the battery it has, but I like the finish and specifications of the Fenix ​​8 51mm solar with MIP screen.

Thanks for the comment! The buttons are actually waterproof and can withstand pressures of 100m (10ATM) of water! So for 99% of people this is enough protection. The battery life is insane 😍 currently the mic and speaker kind of suck on the Fenix 8 so you won’t be missing out on much if you get the Enduro 3. Plus.. there are leaks of the Fenix 8 Pro already.. maybe get the Enduro 3 now and wait until the Fenix 8 Pro comes out with less bugs and improved mic/speaker. Hope this helps 🔥

@@ActiveIdeas Yes, the buttons are waterproof, but you can't touch them in water as it is not covered by Garmin's warranty. I don't dive, but I swim a lot and sometimes I have to touch the buttons, and I can't with the Enduro 2.

Would be a no brainier if the Enduro came in a smaller size. But one of the attraction points of this watch is that you can wear it ALL THE TIME. And for that it's important that you WANT to wear it all the time, and that you don't look ridiculous with it. A tough call for someone with standard wrist size.

You’re not wrong mate! Although, I think Garmin have probably sold more Enduro 3’s than they expected. Overall it’s had a positive reception from the public and reviewers so I’m hoping Garmin see this as a sign to invest more into the Enduro line up and offer us a choice of size! .. I will say.. this 51mm enduro 3 is MUCH more comfortable to wear compared to my Fenix 8 43mm .. it feels less top heavy

@@ThunderRunner it’s a tough one.. I feel the Enduro 3 is more comfortable than the F8 but that doesn’t hide how HUGE it physically is on the wrist .. I think for anyone with 16.5cm wrists you’ll probably prefer the E3, for anyone with smaller wrists, although the F8 is more top heavy it will ‘feel’ better on the wrist I think.. hope this helps ❤️

I got one of these last week. I would say I have quite small wrists and the watch does look big but that's coming from a 735xt. I'm used to it now and I don't mind it and with the strap that comes included it is very comfortable. I'm hoping this watch lasts as long as my 735XT as it's quite an outlay for me but I'm loving the watch. Now I just have to start running again. I'm not really a big runner more hiking, backpacking/camping and MTB/bikepacking but I'd like to get my fitness up so the newer training features over the 735xt will hopefully be useful and if my knees let me I'm hoping to start doing some running.

Thanks so much for the comment ❤️ There are rarely discounts on Coros. I’d rather spend an extra £100 and get the Enduro 3 🔥 Coros is a great watch but it just doesn’t do enough of what I need. The stand out thing for me is that Coros permanently disabled the temperature sensor.. this blows my mind why they’d choose to do this. Also you can’t control music on your phone with Coros (music in general sucks on the vertix 2S). Enduro has a flashlight. And lastly just in general the Enduro is more comfortable on the wrist and easier to use with more buttons and touch screen. Hope this helps ❤️ Sucks to put Coros down like that but, they’re simply miles away from the Enduro 3 but still charging £599 so they’re my honest thoughts. Hope this helps 🔥

Awh cheers Alistair! Unfortunately it does have to be connected to a phone to get the forecast information. But I’m pretty sure if you sync it in advanced it will show you weather information for the rest of the day. You’ve also got your barometer (no phone needed) that you can check for in-the-moment readings (pressure drops and things) ☔️ So quite a powerful tool really

I think the screen on Enduro 3 is much better.. one massive advantage is you can choose to have the backlight one 10%, 20%, 70%, 100%, etc brightness! Unfortunately on Coros it’s either on.. or it’s off! More HRV information? Stay tuned, it’s more than I can put in a comment, will need a video x

Honestly, despite its size it feels so light on the wrist. More comfortable than I was expecting. 16.5cm wrists and I reckon I’m just on the cross line for it being an acceptable all day watch. Honestly… I think i prefer the enduro 3 which doesn’t keep dimming and turning off like the enduro 3. Also.. I’m getting 4 days battery life on the Fenix… but months on the Enduro 3. The speaker is too quiet in my opinion and the mic is borderline useless until Garmin improve their voice commands feature. I’m honest thoughts is that you’re better off getting the enduro 3 and waiting for the Fenix 8 Pro Mini-LED to come out

Ye, yes, YES! It’s good news.. I left this watch on my windowsill and the battery went up! To took like 4 hours to go up 2%. The Garmin instinct 2X Solar was more impressive.. this watch went up over 10% in a few hours of intense sun from what I can remember 🔥

This is a massive improvement on the MIP screen. The Enduro 3 is really showing off how good a MIP screen can be 🙈 Infact I’ve found this more pleasurable to use day to day than the Fenix 8 Amoled which constantly dims, is often to bright or not bright enough. Plus you can much more adjustability in the brightness 🔆 and can even have the backlight completely turned off as still see the screen. This is going to be a massive jump for you mate.. definitely an acceptable upgrade from the Fenix 5 Pro 🫶🏽

Blue light discount? The enduro is a BEAST and you won’t regret the workhorse. One thing I’ve loved about testing the Suunto Vertical is how little i charge it despite training for ultra marathons with it, I expect the enduro will be the same 🔥 Such a simple thing but not having to charge a watch for months is an absolute luxury. The Fenix 8 is cool if you want a showstopper.. a cool watch to show off with, it is undeniably the better looking watch, the speaker and mic functions are cool but don’t really work great anyway. Also, there’s rumours of a Fenix 8 Pro micro-LED being leaked by Garmin.. might be worth getting the Enduro 3 for now and maybe getting the Fenix 8 Pro further down the line

BLC not working yet! I have just bought the enduro 3 and 47mm amoled fenix 8 to try for size. Not allowed to switch on if I want to return however! one extreme to the other. The 47mm is great and would be a brilliant everyday watch but it’s going to be used as a sports watch as I have other watches. but the enduro also sits ok on my 17.5cm wrist and doesn’t feel as if it’s there at all as it’s so light and comfortable as well with the UltraFit strap. Not interested in talking to watch as I don’t even do that with the Apple Watch. If I want to dive again I’ll buy a dive computer it is all about screen quality for maps and navigation and subsequently battery. I could get away with the 47mm but realistically it’s 2.5 days hiking

If it’s weaker it wasn’t enough for me to notice (tested Enduro 2 last year)! It was bright enough for me to do all the tasks I needed & usually do .. including running with no headlamp! Enduro 3 is a zero regrets purchase 🫶🏽

With the overlay of the weather forecast do you need your phone with you to see that on the watch?

It will initially need to have synced with the phone. But once the sync is complete.. you can perform this forecast without the phone needed.. pretty cool stuff 🔥 Im not sure how many hours/days of weather the watch syncs though, before you’ll have to connect to a phone again 👍🏽

@@ActiveIdeas that was by far the coolest feature you showed. My 955 gives the forecast, but not that map with the overlay of the storm coming in. So cool. You have the 955 as well. Does the weight of this E3 feel that much more than the 955 since it’s now lighter than the Enduro 2?

I have to agree, bloody cool feature that! The Enduro 3 is the most comfortable 51mm watch that Garmin do.. it’s not as comfortable as the 955 but I have to say.. it’s probably not that far off.. you get used to that extra weight after a few days ❤️

When I charged it first time 100%, 8 sec ref light brightness 2 and for 9 h the battery was saying 97% then by 10 am 96% at the end of the day 95%. so about 14h max 5% no wifi no activities only pulse ... Idk they say software will sort it out but idk ...

Doesn’t surprise me to read this mate, seems the new software UI is riddled with bugs. From what I’ve seen on my devices.. the Fenix 8 is much worse off. But yeah.. this watch shouldn’t be losing battery life that quickly.. something is up! I’ll keep an eye on this and let you know in a few days if mine’s the same 👊🏽

I know that they saved a few grams and $$ by making the back out of plastic but it feels a bit cheap. Would be nice to keep the titanium back plate.

Usually I’d be the same as you mate, I like the quality feel. But I’m a month into testing now.. the watch is so comfortable. Sooo much more comfortable than the Enduro 2 and the current Fenix 8’s.. I wouldn’t change it

@@ActiveIdeas Yeah especially if you are doing ultra marathons. The AW Ultra just won’t go that long. I mainly mountain bike and the occasional hike though so it’s plenty for me. I do hope the Ultra 3 can stretch out the battery life a bit longer though.

How do you find the 51mm size? The watch seems smaller that it really is, due to the reduced bezel and weight. I normally wear a 42mm Fenix 7s Pro SS, but am seriously considering upgrading to this. I also do wear an Apple Watch Ultra on my other wrist due to LTE, so thinking I'll can manage the size. The Enduro 2 seemed huge in comparison, but the on-wrist experience with this might be different? Thanks.

Hey mate! Yeah I’ve tested Enduro 2 and it felt like a brick on the wrist. (Wrist size 16.5cm) The enduro 3 is soooo much better.. this is due to the watch being less of a chunk like you’ve said but also the weight being reduced. I will say.. you’d potentially find the 47mm Fenix 8 MIP solar more comfortable but there won’t be much in it and the battery life on the Enduro 3 is sooooo much better ❤️

Yo compré uno y fue de pésima calidad. No es resistente, el GPS dejo de funcionar, tenía que re conectarlo al móvil casi diario para sincronizarlos, la función solar no sirvió para nada. Muy caro para lo que fue, el huawei gt5 pro mas barato y mejor calidad. No más garmin
