Which running wearable are you using? What do you think about the Forerunner 165? Let me know in the comments section below 👇🏻

ps - would add to your button section - double tap light button for hot key to the torch (uses the screen). would also note that a long press to the button button should take to media player controller; and long pressing back button will always take you back to watch face, pressing start button will take you to activity options or if tracking an activity back to the tracking activity.

What a brilliant review. Very informative. And from my point of view its good to see someone from the uk reviewing sports watches. I currently have a Garmin forerunner 745 and Apple watch. I will probably wait to see if Garmin bring a new Epix out in August or see what Apple do in September 👍🏻

Hey thanks for watching, I'm very happy to see the UK audience joining in the fun 🙌🏼 😃 FR 745 is great! Getting a few hikes under the belt with the new Polar Grit X2 Pro at the moment. If another Epix comes out I'll do a comparison against it.

Thats great review,. What do you think about amazfit cheetah vs T rex 2
@thewearableist5 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching! I've had a quick look at both Amazfit Cheetah and T-Rez 2. The Cheetah is more oriented towards running, and is lightweight. It's still got a lot of features like dual-band (L1 and L5) frequency for location tracking, wellness features, other workout tracking (gym, indoor workouts, etc.), running-specific features and AMOLED touchscreen. T-Rex 2 is a chunky and rugged watch, geared more towards adventure seekers doing things like multi-day hikes, ultra marathons, etc. It's more durable (has passed US military standard durability tests), battery lasts longer than Cheetah, has many of the features from the Cheetah (dual-band location tracking, AMOLED touchscreen, wellness features, etc). BUT it is heavier and bulky - so you'd feel it's presence more than something like the Cheetah on your wrist. You could still use it for running and other things (gym, health and wellness tracking). It depends on what you're after - if you're not planning on doing a lot of adventure stuff, then maybe the T-Rex 2 could be an overkill. In the UK, the T-Rex 2 (non-Pro version) is currently £80 less than the Cheetah which is interesting 🤔 Hope that helps 😀

@@thewearableist Thank you very much for taking the time to research this data for me. 😊 I really appreciate it . I think the TREX 2 would suit me well considering the nature of my job. 😊 However, the TREX 2 is currently not available in my country, Sri Lanka, or in India either. 😔 I can still ask my friend coming from Thailand next week to bring a TREX 2 for me, but I'm worried that the TREX 3 might launch soon 🙄🙄, especially since the TREX 2 is not getting updates anymore.

11 day battery claim - see the spec - that doesn't include SPO2 use. SPO2 set to night or always on will impact battery quite a lot. The 11 day claim is also smartwatch only - which is why they quote seperate battery estimates for smartwatch use and tracking battery use. To get a daily estimate you would need to combine the smartwatch use with your average daily tracking battery use. So considering your normal usage pattern included 2 items not included in their 11 day estimate I am impressed you got 8 days out of it.

Hi! Yeah I agree I don't know why manufacturers quote different battery life claims - I'll show a link below where Garmin have tabulated their strict testing conditions. But I used it as I would any other wearable (notifications, SpO2 when sleeping only, medium brightness, wake-to-raise on, always-on-display turned off, max GPS accuracy) and it didn't last 11 days (surprise surprise!) But 8 days not bad. I came from a hiking trip to Andorra and it's lasted 8 days as well with long hikes and max GPS on. www8.garmin.com/manuals/webhelp/GUID-607F08F6-33FC-40BF-9727-84E54043D82D/EN-US/GUID-14A987C8-260E-4D95-828B-E4B9A40896FA.html

Garmin's artificial limitations crippling a watch that at £250 is not really that "budget". It's like they're testing the waters to see how many people go for an inferior watch for the sake of the shiny screen rather than get the superior (and maybe even cheaper) FR 255.

Garmin locking software features to force people to upgrade to the higher tier watches is pathetic. I would've bought it if it tracked snow sports since I live in the North but nope. Also, the more casual Vivoactive 5 has Gorilla Glass 3 for screen protection but this one doesn't. Like... why?
@thewearableistАй бұрын
I know right?! Feel like features are stripped out to justify the price point but you're absolutely right in that the Vivoactive 5 is in the same price range and has the additional sports profiles built-in with a more durable design. I'm thinking of doing an in-depth comparison between a Forerunner and a lifestyle-smartwatch like the Venu 3 or Vivoactive 5.
