I’ve ran mine on the port side with a Fishing Speciaties pole for over two years. Purchased the All Aboard Marine all sync pole starboard mount, because I didn’t want the pole hanging over the side of the boat when the Ultrex is stored. Having said all that, I too have noticed a slight difference in the stitching. Thanks for all the research you do for us!

Def looks better on port side. Which makes total sense to me. I’ve once had mine on a pole mount with it being in port side. I’ve since have put it on trolling motor and now I’m having I wouldn’t say voids but discoloration like areas that can really make you lose fish. Def will be putting on port side now. Thanks for this.

I think one of the advantages of the new LVS34 transducer is the middle element being centered and in front of the other two. It is probably the most important element of the three. Good for Garmin for recognizing this and changing the arrangement to a better design.

My thought is about how the water is impacting the transducer faces. Port side appears to have a cleaner flow to the face whereas the starboard does not have as clean of a flow. Starboard has a blunt surface facing the flow, port does not.

My question is does Port or Starboard matter for every installation situation? Meaning, is it just to allow the trolling motor to be physically stowed and not damage the transducer? Does it matter once it is in the water for example? The reason I ask is that I have the Cornfield Crappie electric mount so my LS is on it's own shaft 5-6 inches from the TM shaft which is a similar thing that you have. Could we flip ours around if we saw an advantage like in your video? It would technically be on the starboard side of the TM but the Port side of it's independent pole.
@The_Garmin_Guru2 жыл бұрын
Yes you can bud. I actually flipped mine because I like the port picture better. Great question
