It’s beginning to be confusing trying to decide what AB products works with others. You mentioned that the Sig Rangefinder works with this but it would be nice to have a flowchart or some sort of compatibility list to help with choosing complimentary products. I’m looking forward to receiving this soon as a replacement for my Foretrex 701.

So far I am really loving the watch/ballistic comp combo. One item I would like to suggest is having the ability to adjust font size, or add another screen that just has the range and elevation adjustment in large size.

Does the compass provide for magnetic declination correction? (as in the difference between true bearing/azimuth and magnetic bearing/azimuth) Or does it just read and report magnetic bearing/azimuth?

Question: You said something like, "It's not an app." So then, can I input custom ammo info into the Applied Ballistics thing in the watch and calculate results using Applied Ballistics on the watch? Or does the Applied Ballistics thing in the watch only show pre-calculated data for whatever ammo Applied Ballistics has selected to put in the watch? In other words, does the watch only contain and regurgitate a matrix of pre-calculated data, or does it actually contain Applied Ballistics software to do custom calculations?

What would concerns me if I would be deployed that all data in the watch including my locations, health data etc. are not encrypted in the device! If lost or stolen, anyone can download FIT files and track back owners activities. Hope Garmin will come with encryption, especially after being so badly hacked.

As a green beret, I could use this software. However, I purchased the original Tactix Delta Sapphire in February of 2020 (very shortly after it came out.) Thanks so much Garmin for making the watch I own obsolete only 5 months after I purchased it. This is software, there’s no reason it can’t be ported to the sapphire version of the watch or am I missing something?

Unfortunately the 1400 is not an AB External device, so it is not compatible with this option.

Awesome product! I'm impressed by the battery life. Still I'm relieved to hear the Foretrex 701 is still being supported as I consider it a more "fieldable" device than this product. Mainly for its replacable batteries. The only thing Im missing on Garmins ballistic products are compatibility with a wider selection of rangefinders. I'd prefer if it connected proberly to a rangefinder that matches its compute power. Like Leicas top models, and Vectronix PLRF25C. I know the Terrapin-X i supported, I wish it would transfer more than just the range. Im not a programmer, I don't know where the limitations are. I can't phathom why its such a big problem to have these devices share 3 numbers. Distance, azimuth and incline.

Thank you for the kind words. The apps you need are "Garmin Connect" and "AB Synapse - Garmin". The watch face is actually one of the default faces built into the watch.

After travel expenses + housing/food + being out of work for two weeks due to quarantine protocols when entering another country, he'll prolly have spent 2x the cost of the watch and may not even have a job when/if he gets back home lmfao. He will most likely have to be re-quarantined when reentering Brazil for an additional 14 days, too. Genius! How about buy one from eBay, or use a VPN if Brazil doesn't have eBay, find a seller that ships internationally, and buy it? Or maybe ask a friend of a friend if he doesn't know anyone in the States or a country that sells them to buy one for him and ship it to him? This watch is for LARPers unless you're a PJ or some other type of SOF operator, especially a sniper. 99% of the people buying this watch buy it b/c of the aesthetics and the IDEA of using everything on the watch, when in reality they won't even use 60-70% of the features on the watch lmfao. The freaking Fenix 6 series, especially 6x Pro Solar, is the exact same watch. Only difference is the Tactix can be used with NODS (guarantee you this lad doesn't have NODS, he might have an AR/ARP/rifle, most people buying this watch don't, though), it has a "kill switch" aka factory reset which all Garmin watches have, and it has "stealth mode" aka airplane mode. That's literally the only difference, with the exception of this model having a ballistics calculator.

You can. The Rangecard increments can be set to 10, 15, 20, 22 yards. Whatever you please. Hold down on the "start" button for 3 seconds nad you can adjust base range, range increments and more.

@@joshuamatheson3825 The watch functions the same regardless of what wrist it is worn on. Top Dead Center is going to be the compass orientation for measuring azimuth. This applies to the mapping software as well, or when independently using the compass outside the ballistic software.

Are you asking does it measure wind speed? The answer is no. Does it calculate the wind corrections and all appropriate secondary values based on the wind you input? Yes.

I entered my data in for my 223 round and the range card is not accurate with my own physical range card. Everything is entered in correctly but at 200 the watch says I’m at 11.1 in drop but I’m really only at a 2.7in drop. Anyone know a way to help?

Good question. You might check it against Applied Ballistics' online calculator on their website. (Though I tried using it yesterday and today and it doesn't seem to be working. Not sure if the problem is on their end or mine.)

Hey Brian Litz...when will you guys add some new reticles on the $30 app. I have a Valdada Recon G2 MP-8 Xtreme X1 MOA. No other reticle really matches what I have. Thinking of buying Strelok pro which does have it and hundreds of others.

Hello, I highly suggest sending in your reticle request to [e-mail]. We document and log all requests so that when we add new reticles we can prioritize them based on popularity/requests. If you don't see a reticle similar to yours, I suggest picking the mildot as the reticle selection only effects the reticle output page and none of the actual calculations.

You can buy these at a number of places, but it is embedded software and a hardware upgrade so it's not an app that can be added to previous Garmin devices.

At last they deside to put the sapphire to the solar tactix instead of that "power glass" they advertise on the Fenix line. Proof that it's just software is that they put there another solar without the AB software. And OK let's say that zthey put something in there that allows connectivity to Lazer rangefinders and other devices... Then if someone doesn't want that connectivity why he can't just have the software to his fenix? It's just marketing, that's why! They just telling you that if you want teh AB just throw away your fenix and buy the tactix!!!

What Garmin should have been integrated is a correctly placed inlay/display!! (tactix Delta Solar and Ballistic Edition) Yet I have bought six! tactix Delta "sbe" from German sellers and all of them are incorrect assembled. The inlays are slightly twisted clockwise. The two squares are not directly under the "24". It seems to be only appearing with the solar editions as I have not seen any pictures of tactix Deltas without solar build together incorrectly. The squares are under the 2 and 4 in a perfect line as shown on every marketing render. I am very unhappy about the fact that Garmin has told me the deviation is within normal production fluctuations. What??!! Production fluctuations on a 1,500 $ Watch?! Are they kidding me?
