Thanks for your question! I would of course pick a unit that has built in coastal cartography, so either an ECHOMAP with coastal mapping or a GPSMAP with built in mapping. Other than that it would be up to you in terms of screen size, sonar capabilities, etc. The last thing to consider is if you ever plan on adding Radar to your boat, if you do you will want to look at a GPSMAP as ECHOMAPS cannot display radar data. I have been looking at an echomap, but nearly all the reviews are for stink boats with the emphasis on fishfinders. I have a sailing yacht. Is there a better option for sailers?
