And we would have got a full sale of the Glazers shares to SJR if it wasn't for the A shareholders problem. By July, Jassim was effectively out when he told Raine he wouldn't give A shareholders equal consideration. Thankfully SJR found a way around the A shareholders problem with his "27%+2% for now" deal. Without that, there would have been no sale at all. Mark can whine about it to his deathbed, but facts matter.

think about this - Mainoo wants a new contract, so what message should the club put out? that they are desperate for him to stay, or that they are willing to let him go if the price is right? Obviously the latter. It's a negotiating tactic - all players that are negotiating new deals are potentially up for sale. Next Garnacho, if you've got a player who wasn't training that well and showing signs of indiscipline, do you put out a message that you really want to keep him, or that you're ready to let him go? again, the latter, to send a message to him that he is not bigger than the club. In both cases, this is the club saying they will not be dictated to anymore. Mainoo is going nowhere. If Garnacho goes, it will be because Amorim doesn't think he has the right attitude. So really, nothing to stress about.
