This is a sort of anime parody world, where I see everyone as predominantly straight but loosely bisexual in the way you might see in shows like Sailor Moon or Card Captors. Mizmy and Garnet Heart were close friends who had crushes on each other but they did not understand it that way. It wasn’t until years after mizmy died and became a zombie that Garnet looked back and realized that they had something of romantic feelings for each other and how much that affected what happened. Outside of Mizmy, Garnet had crushes on other girls but more explicit romances with men before giving up on dating entirely at a very young age.
