Hello Hello! As mentioned in the video, my need for slip has changed. But our community can use your help. If you have long hair and have used any of the products shown in the video, do leave your thoughts on the slip. Super keen on your inputs! It would also be nice if you shared your opinion on the product in general. What is your hair type, curl type and porosity? Which variant did you use? How was heavy or light enough for your hair? What is your usual product lineup? How did it compare to your experience with these products? Honest opinions are encouraged. Haircare is subjective. Products work differently on different curl types and porosities. By sharing your experience, you might just help someone make the right choice.

Michelle is like an angel to the haircare community. Although I have very straight, low to med porosity fine hair I still always search hair masks and conditioner reviews and suggestions on KZbin adding Michelle Manuel w it. Simply because I've learnt so much about protein, moisture, the balance between them and how that can be disrupted sometimes which is absolutely normal and can be fixed , and we need to check the balance for ourselves especially before washdays that what should be added to our hair the next as hair does not act the same way everytime or everyday; and then Silicone and clarifying and chelating etc. All these stuff are essential to know regardless the hair type which I personally have received only and first from Michelle. I've become so much practical and also logistic which is kinda intimidating at first as well to plan and rearrange the whole system which I still am dealing with but I do believe that it's gonna be worth it after I get it. I personally don't like to talk a lot on public platforms like KZbin or don't really give feedback that much but Michelle deserves thousands of such feedbacks.

This is super helpful - I've been using the macadamia hair food as a leave in for a while now and whilst I'm happy with how it is, I'm looking for something that's more moisturising. I've ordered the papaya varient because the macadamia wasn't in stock, which is what made me want to look into the differences between each varient. I'm going to cancel that one and order the aloe vera varient instead, but I'll definitely give the rest of them a try if needs be. I also love how you specify that this is how each product works on *your* hair - a lot of curly hair influencers generalise how a product works rather than talking about how the product worked for them specifically, which lead to a lot of false expectations from myself when I was first starting CGM (as I didn't have much knowledge on how different hair types worked).

I have the Banana and Aloe versions, and alternate between the two when I need to use a mask. As for a leave in, I definitely agree with you, I’d only ever use the Aloe. I haven’t noticed much of a difference in my curl definition , but tbh I’m not the most observant person and don’t really care as long as my hair is manageable and at least somewhat presentable. I can’t be bothered to care cause of what you mentioned with detangling long hair funnily enough, I hate having to deal it, too much of a hassle for my tastes. As long as it’s not a frizzy, matted, damaged mess, I’m satisfied. The only reason I haven’t chopped it all off yet is cause I’m donating it either next year or the year after, which I can’t wait for. My short hair was so much easier to care for and style however I wanted.

My hair is type 2B-2C, wavy, low porosity and I have recently ordered the banana variant, given the reviews and the hype of the product. I plan to use it as a deep conditioner and I would really like your views on this. Please let me know.

Hello ladies. I did a video with a dermatologist who addressed this issue in detail if you're interested. In short, my advice on this is as follows: stop cgm immediately. Do not style your hair with any products. Don't use oils or butters on your hair lengths or scalp. Switch to dermatologist recommended products. After you finish the course of medication advised by your doctor and the issue is resolved, you can then return to using cg friendly products and styling your hair.

My routine was Shampoo - earth rhythm murmurs butter shampoo bar Conditioner- reequil murumuru butter conditioner DC and leave in - Garnier hairfood aloe vera variant. Gel - FMC

You could try changing th quantity of of leave in you use. You can also try to watch some of my humidity proof wash days routine to help with frizz. Could you tell me what you used before and how long you've been on cgm? Switch to a hard hold gel. During monsoon, frizz is caused by humidity. Day 2 and 3 frizz is caused when your gel does not have enough hold. Please watch my latest humidity proof washday routine video. I've explained it all in so much detail.
@cyneradbritto2 жыл бұрын
@@MichelleManuel thank you for responding. I will surely check that video out. I have been on CG journey since over two years now. ( budget friendly CG journey.) I used to use flax seed gel and oats mask while starting out before starting with products. Then I used WoW shampoo and conditioners. The shampoo caused a lot of hairfall so i stopped. Now I've been on bar shampoo and reequil conditioner since last 7-8 months and it suits my hair. I use fix my curls gels, and it doesn't have strong hold but gives my hair a healthy shine and beachy waves look. And frizz is also controlled. For leave in, I've experimented with FMC, Enliven, and Ustra. Not liked any of it really, so bought this aloevera variant of garnier hair food. After air drying my hair was very very frizzy. Is it because it's too much moisture and very less protein? How do I balance it? Do I need to use oil to seal the moisture post drying?
@AriiFireflying892 жыл бұрын
@@cyneradbritto Hi! I got 2B wavy hair and recently I've changed my routine keeping the same products and it made a huge difference with Frizz. Try the LCO method (liquid, condition, oil) or a variant to seal moisture in. In between washes when my hair gets dry I use a biphasic (spray) conditioner for fine hair that doesn't weight it down, a creamy leave in with shea moisture on it (I use the strengthen and restore leave in conditioner from shea moisture and its the first one that works) and then I seal it with coconut oil. I like to use lightweight silicones and as long as I choose products that are weightless and clarify once a week it goes well, like the OGX coconut serum which I use as a pre shampoo treatment and as a serum. Sounds like this aloe product is very very hydrating so try following it with an oil or serum. I also loved the Inkey list hydrating serum and it's made for taming frizz and adds a lot of shine.

@MichelleManuel2 жыл бұрын
Judging by your recent comments i think you'll like products that I personally like. I have high porosity hair and enjoy creamy heavy products. The plum mask does not suit me either. That being said way, the way to retain moisture is to lock it with an oil post wash. (Observe how i use an oil when i sotc) I think you said you have straight hair. So maybe this could change things for you. If not, i think you will like the products i spoke about in this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKuYiIiGhrdsoMU
@MichelleManuel2 жыл бұрын
It's also worth mentioning that when i don't style my hair, no matter what products i use, my hair spits out the moisture instantly and I'm left with a ball of frizz within hours. So maybe your could use a leave in and lock it with an oil? A little bit of experimenting is required. Not sure if curly hair tips apply to high porosity straight hair.

@@nithya4589 i think you could use a silicone based serum after you're done. Any basic brand will do. It should help with frizz and flyaways. It's not a leave ins job to tackle frizz. That's a job for gel or mousse. If you have straight hair you might not need to use this as a leave in conditioner at all. It's better to use it as a wash off product (conditioner or hair mask). Using a leave in will only weigh your hair down even more and make it feel over-moisturised. This can also lead to excess frizz.

@@nithya4589 then try styling your hair with the product. It be frizz free but you'll see some definition. If you use a gel or mousse you'll see way less frizz

For low porosity hair which varient will work good?
@MichelleManuel2 жыл бұрын
You won't be able to pick a product by considering porosity alone. A person with 2a low porosity hair and a person with 4c low porosity hair will need different levels of moisturization. The same product will not do. It's a concept I've explained in quite a few videos. In this video I've arranged them from lightest to heaviest. That would be a key indicator if you need help choosing.

As a Deep conditioner, Banana and aloe varient worked well on my sister’s wavy hair which is almost straight .. But for my frizzy and dense curly hair, it made them more frizzy and tangled .. Couldn’t even run my fingers through the hair ;( PS: Really appreciate the effort you have put into the video Michelle 💜

Thanks for sharing your feedback. Did you use a gel with the products? Did you not find the aloe one heavy? I received some feedback that some people got overmoisturised results with the aloe variant

@@MichelleManuel did not use any gel.. maybe it did overmoisturised my hair and so my it got heavy, tangled and frizzy I guess.. not sure :( Compared to this mask I liked the shirolepam by just herbs better.. Thanks for suggesting that❤️
