But what percentage is a Fleming deep water/ ocean crossing/ explorer boat-yacht... Could a Fleming be designed for a heavier ocean-going yacht, or is that a different concept altogether?

Look for the videos of the Fleming yacht Venture. This belongs to Tony Fleming, the founder of Fleming. He has travelled most of the globe over the years. Ok he could not do the Pacific non stop, but he hops and travels between continents. I would love one but they are not cheap.

That's one drawback to boatshows is that you normally have restrictions on what you can access onboard. Fortunately, I got far more freedom than I ever expected when I was onboard

Somehow, Fleming seems like the benchmark all the others should be compared to. I personally like that Fleming had got speed when you want it as an option. Fleming is also twin diesel vs single and as much as I understand the pros and cons of both, my personal preference would be to have a spare engine with you just in case 😉

I saw a post on Facebook where a 65 is crossing the Atlantic with a bladder tank sitting in the aft cockpit. It has plenty of fuel for the trip and plenty of space to secure the temporary fuel source too. 😎

Good question, it looks like at around 5 knots she has over 4000 nautical mile range based on the fuel figures at boattest.com/boats/fleming-yachts/65-2020 The aft cockpit is massive. You could also look into a temporary fuel bladder, but not sure how that works with weight and stability. I've never used one myself so far.....

This one might not have the most headroom in the engine room, but it's all compromise. It has plenty if room for doing maintenance, great headroom in the accommodation, but a relatively low air draft.

Nordhavn 52 definitely has more headroom in the engine room, but also a significantly higher center of gravity than the Fleming.

If I was doing that route, I'd put a bladder tank on the aft deck. She has the seaworthy capabilities for the passage, but the range is cutting it close. A bladder would give you that extra piece of mind 😉

It's really difficult to put a price on it, as each one is semi custom. You can change so much about the spec that in turn changes the price. For an accurate price, your best bet is reaching out to Burr Yachts. As a very rough guide, it looks like it would be around $3.5m based on other reviews I've found online.

It's actually a common practice at boat shows when the boats are privately owned and not for sale. The amount of people coming through boat shows greatly increases the risk of the soft furnishings being damaged.

Nice service, but the shots should be done in such a way that one visits the boat in person with his head held high. Unfortunately they seemed to be shot by a person with sciatica and his head down. You saw a lot of floor or very low shots, nothing of the ceilings or heights. A real shame

I understand the "Do not sit" signs as the upholstery should be kept perfect for the buyer, but the other signage about "respecting owners privacy" seems paranoid and tone deaf. If you're showing and selling your boat, take all the personal contents out of your medicine cabinets, refrigerator and storage lockers because no one is buying unless they can open up everything and inspect every nook and cranny. The broker should have taken care of that one unfortunate error in this otherwise beautiful boat showing.

I understand and yet find it very offputting that owner allows yacht to be presented with all the bloody restrictions...dont do this, dont do that,signposted bloody everywhere.....awful really...are fleming so poor that they cant build and display 1 yacht this size that could be properly opened and then sold later....c'mon eh!

It's actually a common way of doing things for boats like this, not just Fleming. These boats aren't mass produced so you don't have a ton of stock to pick from. At this price point, you also have to think of all the boat shows and availability. Annapolis boat show is right next to Ft Lauderdale on the calendar. I won't name names, but I actually filmed one boat I was proud to get on at Ft Lauderdale that I can't use the video for 😞 They had so much of the boat shut off including owners cabin, it defeated the point of being there!
