Thank you for this. I recently purchased a Gerrard DD75 Teak and have been searching high and low for videos, parts info, and other appreciators. I restoring mine as well, although it is in working condition as is, it could be better. Looks like I'll be replacing the tone arm wires, needle and cartridge, and a bit of the cue arm fixing. Cheers!

I need to replace my tone arm wiring and phono cables on my DD75, can you please tell me what brand/model number tone arm wires you used ?

I used a set of tonearm wires from Pro-Ject. The best thing about them is that they come with the contacts already attached. www.analogueseduction.net/project-upgrades-parts-accessories/pro-ject-tonearm-inner-tonearm-cables.html

I purchased this turntable new in 1977 and still use it today. I have the tone arm random lift problem. Could you be so kind as to explain how to fix this problem or direct me to repair instructions? Thank you, Craig

Use the following advice at your own risk (of course). You need to flip the unit over (secure the tonearm, be really careful, etc.) and remove the plastic cover. Look where the tonearm lever comes through to the controls. You will see a notch in the tonearm lever that has worn smooth over time. Very carefully (!!!) use a file to deepen the groove. Go slowly and test frequently since you can't put anything back once you've filed it off. You may need to disconnect some of the other controls to get to the groove. Good luck!

Why can't Americans pronounce the word Garrard right?.
