Loads a Money😁.. we were down at the perranporth haven site for two weeks either side of the Board masters event, my son said there were two guys detecting near the waters edge at low tide in the dark , wasn't you pair by any chance was it?😁 we love Cornwall , been going to perranporth for 30 odd years it used to take around 4hrs to get home afterwards "not any more mate" (unless you leave at 3am) 😂😂 You are lucky you weren't digging up BBQ trays and tinnies some people have no morals , I've found broken bottles and all sorts of nasties in the sand further along the beach down at the Haven campsite access. The part of the beach where you were at is raked with a tractor now and again. Nice video, I'm missing the place already 😎ATB👍

After the surfing event it was always good down there, wish I'd had an Apex back then, it's turned out to be one of the very best wet beach detectors, good video, enjoyed it.

I have to say the apex did so well on the beach considering I didn't have to tweak any settings. Ash was digging up bottle tops left right n centre with his Equinox. The only bottle tops I found were the ones I collected lying on top (litter picking). See you tomorrow, weather looks gooood ☀️

Thinking about getting an apex soon , what is the bottle cap rejection like as there are probably thousands in the beach I detect, the nox is pretty good at rejecting them just wondering if the apex is up to scratch too ? Thanks in advance

Hi guys, if I remember rightly, I found very few bottle caps with the apex. Ash found absolutely stacks of them with the Equinox. Nox is king on beach though, I would keep the nox. I never been the biggest fan of the apex, I'm all about the Deus2 at the moment. Thanks for tuning into my channel, for watching this video and commenting. Hi Daniel, I used an At Pro for almost 4 years in my early years, it found some of my best finds. BUT, it is a heavy machine and only single frequency, no good at all on wet sand. The Garrett APEX is multi frequency and works really well on beaches. If you have a bit more of a budget then the Minelab Equinox is mega on wet sand and also the XP Deus 2. As a none beach detectorist I have always been under the impression that any beach in the UK is OK to detect on. Only recently have I discovered that Perranporth beach is apparantly privately owned and detecting is not allowed on there. Although there were several other detectorists there when we were

@@westy1westy187 there weren't any signs, nobody batted an eyelid, didn't even think about if it was allowed or not. Ash lives and detects on Cornwalls beaches all year round and even he didn't know

People are allowed on there to drop all theor rubbish, I'm pretty sure we are allowed to go round and pick it up. Also we did not detect in the dunes. Thanks

@@TheDukesOfDerbyshire you were clearly in the dunes on fistral where the lights were found. Towan is Nat Trust and they do not allow detecting in any of their beaches and perranporth is private and council don’t allow detecting. Sadly that doesn’t give the right to detect. If you want to collect rubbish take a bin bag not a detector! Behaviour like this doesn’t help the hobby

@@ackers7710 Hi Mark I read your comments with interest as after watching Gareth and Ash I fancied a beach trip myself ( I live in Nottm ) . So I've just googled " metal detecting on beaches " . The Google post was as follows : "Metal detecting on beaches is allowed to any individual . " As I thought was the case and pretty sure many other detectorists do . I do not dispute what you're saying however about the National Trust and local council . But .... if that is the case then surely appropriate signage should be installed to notify detectorists to this ? . Especially as it is widely accepted as being allowed nationally on beaches . Having followed these two guys channels for a long time , it's clear they are extremely responsible detectorists and would never , knowingly participate in any unlawful wrongdoing or in fact anything that would bring a bad name to the hobby . In fact I feel they are both inspirational and great ambassadors to detecting . Maybe the signage suggestion could be put to the appropriate authorities ? Best regards 👍.

Not being funny but we dug a maximum of 3 or 4 inches in soft dry sand for recent drops on Fistral. No damage was done in any way and much more os done by the people burying BBQ's and so on. Plus that was the only part we went up the dunes. Nobody has ever been stopped detecting Perranporth and no signs and multiple people detect it daily not saying that makes it right but they are not bothered enough to stop anyone. As for Towan I had never been there before and wasn't aware it was NT.

@@thesouthernsearcher correct it’s not right because others do it. The dunes are scientific interest area and only a few inches again doesn’t make it right. There are no signs not to detect at stone henge but I assume you wouldn’t go and start digging there. Towan is fully signed as Nat Trust so as a detectorist it should be clear that it’s a no go. People think they can just detect on a beach without permission. You wouldn’t I hope just start detecting in someone’s field without permission! Personal responsibility to ensure permission is there and clearly you have no regard to the etiquette and obtained such permission. Actions like this bring the hobby into disrepute and your replies are clearly trying to justify wrong doing. 😕
