Really like what Garrett Industries does here. This holster is an IWB for a j-frame. It works out pretty well. Check them out here: www.giholsters.com Stay Safe and Check 360 Often!

this holster belt clip is the best I have ever seen offered for a holster, a truly great concept/design...
@TheOl191110 жыл бұрын
David Januszewski I totally agree. The larger clips (stronger ones) are overkill and basically act like a belt loop. I think if you were going to carry a 1911 or an all steel revolver I'd up the clip to something like that. Otherwise the standard clip seems to be plenty. Also you can do the easy on/off.

Talk about coming late to the party…. This holster has been offered for many years. I got mine today….I have purchased many Kydex holsters, and my opinion was they’re all about the same… Garrett Industries has hanged my mind about that. This holster for my 638 J Frame is the Cadillac of Kydex….or maybe Ferrari….The fit and finish are extraordinary! This is the best example of “you get what you pay for”.

Just stopped by the shop today, I'm a local, and they spent all of the time needed showing me all that I needed to know about holsters for any type of carry. They showed me every option I had available and were quick about everything. Also, having it within 7 business days is prettttty nice for custom work.

IWB doesn’t have to be uncomfortable; especially if you carry in the appendix position. While many of the holsters you prefer are beautiful to look at they are not ideal for concealment or comfort. I’m 6’0 tall and weigh 150lbs; I can comfortably carry and conceal a 3” Ruger GP100 or a 3” 686 Plus. I’m able to do this because I use holsters specifically designed for this purpose. JM Custom Kydex, Dark Star Gear & Harry’s Holsters all make fantastic holsters that get the job done from a comfort & concealment standpoint. By the way I truly enjoy your channel; your taste in guns is impeccable 👍

I just got a lavender lady by charger arms 32 special I need a holster i have no idea where to get a holster. Pretty sure it's a jframe so would any jframe work? Also think it's a 3inch barrel Idk. Just started shootings and I live in area I feel the need to carry now since I walk my talk alone at night and things like that and someone was murdered behind my apartment at the park I go to all the time multiple times per day/night so I want a holster that will fit my new firearm. Any suggestions would be great from anyone

Clever "clip" design. IMO Garrett(and many others) should attach the belt clip 'offset' at where the retention adjustment screw(s) are. This moves the clip, 'bosses' and hardware OFF the already FATTEST portion of the gun/holster and serendipitously creates a "torque arm" effect that naturally pulls the gun's grip flush against the body. I've modified (or specified) similar polymer holsters for both revolvers and semi-autos in this way and it saves a full half inch or more of total width in the individual system, ultimately showing a far less pronounced bulge in one's belt-line.
@l8tbraker7 жыл бұрын
Totally agree. I'm a thin guy, and that bulge is huge on me. (The holster, I mean, LOL.) Anyway, 2 wider spaced clips work much better for me.
@douglaselliott82987 жыл бұрын
l8braker- I'm 60, my waist size exceeds my inseam by 15", and I wear suspenders. The dual clip designs quickly proved problematic to angrily frustrating for me in respect to easy on, off, and position adjustability. A proper weight leather belt is the best defense against 'sag' IMO. But if it works; wear it.

I know I'm a bit late to this discussion, however, if you would take a look at Garrett Industries website, you'll see they do just as you want. www.giholsters.com/category-s/361.htm I have two of their holsters, one for the 1911 and the other for a S&W Model 4566. Both carry the heavier handguns extremely well.

amacro11 very nice! I also feel they are worth the money. Also the lead time is very reasonable (7 biz days). Pricy yes but I believe they work very well. I know of someone that uses their duty holster (D2) and states it is serving him very well. Good customer service as well.

@TheOl19119 жыл бұрын
flyontop that holster had the standard clip. DO NOT get the heavy duty clip as it was way too thick and did not work well. That is more suited for larger firearms that are heavier.

You sound like you are not so happy about the incog, is it just because of the weak clips or it's because of something more? Please let me know cause i'm thinking of ordering one for my glock 19. Thank you!
@TheOl191110 жыл бұрын
Mike Lagmay I haven't been carrying the G19 as much now and as the month goes on I will probably put the G19 on hiatus until Fall. But in regards to the INCOG I do not like the mag caddy attachment as it prints big time and I've been made a few times already. It was embarrassing and I had some explaining to do, LOL. The clips concern me somewhat but not really...not yet. It seems to stay put but I can't help but think one day they will loose all their rigidity and when drawing I'll draw the holster out. Probably not but its on my mind.

The best ive seen for a j frame... 85 bucks is a little steep... But it looks quality!!! Im sold. Thanks for the video. Their site doesnt have a drop down for "gun models" do i just type in s&w j frame? Or do i need to give actual model number..? It should fit a 637, 642 442 and mine which is a newer one the 437.. Black airweight with fde combat grips.. I love it.

@TheOl191110 жыл бұрын
OzarkNick its the "Standard Clip" but I think I'd like to go with the HD Wide Clip, that's just me though as the standard clip works fine. I just like the extra strength as I want that extreme rigidity.

You will Love it. I carry a K frame in the stx (not 2.0 version)OWB with leather straps and snaps. Straight drop 3 o’clock. Under a T-shirt .its slick on the outside and conceals nicely. They don’t have it on the website anymore but they make a version with a soft back. Three layers. Suede against the skin, neoprene moisture barrier, Herman oak leather against the gun. Hermann oak and kydex on the front. Solo and fusion are the names. Both of those are IWB. saw your comment and figured it might be something you may be interested in. When Mrs. Garrett emailed me back about the two holsters she did mention you lose a little retention. But against the body, behind the belt you get some friction tension.Give them a call. Very easy to work with.
@l8tbraker7 жыл бұрын
I like the concept, but I'm not so sure about the execution. It looks like it's sharp around the edges. In any case, the single clip in the middle thing doesn't work for me. Makes it look like I'm wearing a colostomy bag or something. Much prefer the wide spaced 2 clips format.
@xteledude57265 жыл бұрын
Realize the reply is a year after this comment.. GI also makes a revolver holster that has an offset mount.. the holster sits tighter without the bulge from the clip. The edges are finished nicely, better than other Kydex holsters I've seen and used. They offer a pretty wide selection of clips.. I find that the wide gripper clips does a fantastic job, holds the holster in place all day, unlike the typical FOMI clip I never need to adjust it and never worried that the holster is going to work it's self off my belt, even after a long car ride. I'm a big guy and am impressed with how comfortable the holster is with my K6 revolver..Certainly think it's worth looking at the options available..
