Hello, great tip! I had the same problem with a few of my other detectors. The worst (loudest) one was a small Tesoro Mojave. I couldn't get it quiet even with several layers of tape and a bag of ear plugs (underneath). I don't know what some (or most) manufacturers are thinking. Hearing (and not disturbing) the surrounding is crucial. Have a great weekend! 👍

Great idea. I used duct tape on my AT pro speaker hole. I quit wearing headphones after I was approached by a stranger in park. He was acting bad. I didn’t trust him.
