Garret detectors got me in the game, I prefer my Nokta Legend now though. So many great detectors out there, super fun.

I'll tell you what I really noticed was the stable and large VDI on the targets as well as the multi-dimension screen functioning as good as I had hoped. Unlike the Legend ferrous check meter which I personally hardly pay attention to. Garrett released a video on their channel explaining the new ferrous boundary setting and it is explained in the updated manual found on the website. Nice to see test with actual iron in the ground. I'm not overly concerned yet that Iffy had some issues we'll see if they open it up a bit. Looks like Garrett locked it down maybe a little too much. So far I like what I see as long as the battery issue was a fluke.

I’ll pass. Those tones would drive me nuts. No carbon graphite shaft, no headphones or an interface that appeals to me. For the price, I would think it would be a better value. Doubt also that the performance is going to be anywhere out of the ordinary from what I’ve seen. I can do as good or better for less money and get more in the box than Garrett offers with this unit. Just my thoughts of course. Doesn’t necessarily make it a bad choice for others.

Listening to them tones through the speaker and youtube I'd probably not dig any of these targets in any kind of reassurance they are good targets. Tones need alot of work.

i'm used to listening the Minelab tone that i could not understand what the good tone sounds like for Garrett. but that just me. Iffy signal just posted video about unmasking target. I think this machine IS NOT a game changer like they say it is a "STORM"... we already enjoy what the technology this Vortex has from other machine. what is so special/advantage about the Vortex for us that we can say, Garrett has out perform this time with the Vortex? Cal, so sorry you got a big paper weight right out of the box.

Try a brand new charger make sure it pushes at least 2.5 amps the amps are important. Chargers can get weaker over time. Plus the first change can take longer it can take a while to even show one bar.
