@okay1904
@okay1904 3 жыл бұрын
@@sleonis_ It depends on what keyboard controller he was using. It could be just by good fortune, that the keyboard controller the pianist is using perfectly matches the default MIDI mapping of Garittan CFX, and also matches the pianists personal preferred touch response. Usually its almost impossible that all three aspects will match perfectly, keyboard players personal touch preference + default velocity mapping of layers in sampled piano + default velocity mapping of keyboard controller. Unfortunately most of the tools used to achieve this mapping, which are included in the sampled piano product such as Garritan CFX, or with keyboard controllers, do not have extensive features for adjusting velocity mapping and matching all of the three factors I listed above. Search for a VST MIDI plugin called MidiCurve - an excellent MIDI velocity re-mapping tool, which you place between the MIDI inputs of your DAW and the sample player plugin, to adjust the "feel" of your keyboard controller. I have found it to be the best tool for my needs. The settings are saved withyour DAW project and you could also export the settings and recall them for each sampled piano you use, so even if you changed your DAW, you can reuse the settings in any other DAW, by recalling them. I build a library of settings for each of my sampled pianos, so I can use these in any project. The most current version is here, as one of the plugins in the suite of pizmidi/pizjuce plugin collections. Unzip/Extract the bundle and you will find the MidiCurve plugin.

@@zumadale That's unfortunate, mine is working well so far. What I do have an issue with is the key tops - there's about 7 that apparently have become partially unglued and they click when hit at a distance. I'm supposed to receive a complete replacement once it's back in stock.
@maulcs
@maulcs 4 жыл бұрын
@@zumadale I have Pianoteq and I had already done this when I initially got the VPC1. But I just did it again, and it looks fine - the corresponding values are where they should be in relation to the pedal being depressed. Have you considered that it might be something on your end?

@maulcs
@maulcs 4 жыл бұрын
@@zumadale Hey, so it looks like I'm having a similar problem now. And it occurred after having the pedal just sit there for a couple weeks when I barely used the keyboard. Do you know what causes it? Dust particles? Why the hell would it just start getting messed up out of nowhere. I do have to admit, that's totally unacceptable. They should be putting together an optical replacement, instead of just continuing to sell these.
@maulcs
@maulcs 4 жыл бұрын
@@zumadale Thanks for the response - I was reading a thread yesterday about that optical conversion, but the site that hosts the file is down. Any way you can link to it here (need to make sure it's not auto-removed by their filters)? Or email it: maultification@gmail.com I'm due for a VPC1 replacement for the key issues I mentioned, once they get stock, but now that I know how prevalent and real this pedal issue is, it's very concerning. I mean, it's still usable, but I do not have precise control over it like I used to. I'm betting a lot of people aren't very adept in half pedaling, or just don't pay attention to the finer details. When you have the pedal sound on in a VST, you can hear it activating when it's not being pressed - that's how I first noticed it. Then it'll sometimes spike up to 120 when pressed, making half pedaling useless. Even though I like the heavier action of the VPC1, this makes me regret not going for the MP11SE, extra money or lighter action be damned. The MP11SE still has slip tape issues though - I guess this stuff just goes with the territory of these Kawais, and it's something I'm going to have to deal with until they release GF3 slabs. I think I'd pay an extra $1,000 just to not have any more issues like this. I'm going to have to follow your instructions and try to fix it, because I don't think I can play again with a clear mind while it's like this. Just hope I don't break the thing, then I'd be in trouble. A KZbin video would definitely be awesome, could help a lot of people - because for every comment someone makes about this, there's 10 others having the issue silently.
