Fun facts: Garrus' actor didn't sleep the night before recording this mission so he would sound more tired. Male Shepherd's actor voices most of the Volus, Hanar and all of the Vorcha. Aria is voiced by Carrie-Anne Moss, who played Trinity in The Matrix. The way Salarians speak was based off of Steve Buscemi (Not kidding).

@Seth-fg4ho Жыл бұрын
@@hoya1178 To generate the proper natural vocal textures, especially since the actor probably knew how important Garrus's return scene was. It's a lot less unnecessary than starving oneself for a some big cinematic role that requires the character to be anorexic or something. Some actors prepare in whatever ways will make their performances seem more genuine... you might be surprised at what they'll go through, particularly method actors and people taking on roles they deeply relate to. In this case, the voice actors in games can't enhance their performances with visuals, so they want to use any vocal tool are at their disposal to sell the characters. I remember the singer on one of Iron's Maiden's albums also stayed up all night and exhausted himself before recording the opening lines of a song entirely to get the proper shady quality to his voice. It all simply dedication to the craft.
@hoya1178 Жыл бұрын
@@Seth-fg4ho Some of the best actors don't need any of that to perform just as good. Method acting doesn't require any of that, it's just come poor misinformation that Method actors stay in character or do things like that in preparation, many method actors don't that actually do that. It's not requried by Stella Adler and Lee Strasberg teachings. Also preparing for a role such a losing weight is not related to method acting necessarily, plenty of actors that aren't method actors do that. For example Michael Fassbender when he played the hunger striker Bobby Sands in the film "Hunger" lost a lot weight for the role but he is not a method actor. Also I'm the actor for Garrus could have done just a good of a job without staying up all night and I'm not sure it added anything to his perfomance to do so.
@Seth-fg4ho Жыл бұрын
@@hoya1178 I should apologize for misinterpreting your comment, which came off as simply, "Why doesn't an actor just act?" It sounded over-simplified. You're clearly more educated on the matter that that, so I'm cool with you calling me out for that judgement, especially since I did a poor job of communicating my point (the danger of leaving half-assed responses on social media... I usually don't expect that anyone will read them.) I guess the comment sparked something personal. Speaking as a writer and a musician, it would drive me up the wall if I mentioned having trouble with some process, or if had the desire to try some off-beat approach, and someone said, "Why don't you just, you know, 'play' or 'write'?" Those words mean different things to different people. Everyone has their own personal processes, even those with formal training at level of say, Strasberg's or Julliard. Creatively, we all need help getting to where we need to be from time to time, and that why there are so many tools available. So, I didn't mean to suggest that "losing weight for a role" or prepping in any way IS "method acting." I only mentioned method acting to point out that there are different ways to approach the craft and different ways of getting into a character's head (i.e., not everyone is a method actor.) I mentioned losing weight to point out that there are various ways to prep for things, whether it's altering one's body or, perhaps, staying up all night. It's true, I've heard stories of method actors doing kooky things to get there, but maybe that's just more a matter of the individual actor than any specific technique. That's what I was getting at: it's all about individual approach to a role, or a story, or a song... whatever. Brandon Keener, who plays Garrus, must have felt, for whatever reason, that he would be in a better place vocally or mentally to sell the moment if put himself in a similar situation to Garrus. Hell, maybe he was simply experimenting. Wanted to see if staying up would make a difference. Like I said, it's not first time I've heard of someone doing that very thing to prep for a vocal performance.

Heyhey, enjoying the playthrough! 😊 22:00 doing a renegade interrupt doesn't detract from paragon and vice versa, but sometimes being patient and/or waiting things out will give you other conversation options. Like at the citadel with the rude reporter Khalisah al-Jilani you could have chosen a renegade interrupt, but because you didn't do one there you then had the option to choose a paragon dialogue to shut her up instead. So the interrupt doesn't detract, but it can sometimes change the scenario and/or further dialogue afterwards. Up to you when you feel like waiting things out or feel paragon/renegade in the moment, any can be interesting!

Incinerate is specifically designed to work on armor and Shock works on shields.

Grunt loves his mama so much! He went from "cant wait to kill ya :)" to "my gamertag is XxShepardWrox420xX" EDIT: Garrus my beloved EDIT 2: RE: missing with abilities. If you think about the red target box as where you're launching a power to, think of your cross hair as where you're shooting it out from. If you have the red border around an enemy when you choose a power, I believe some of them lock on and home in automatically. If you don't have a lock on, it basically just locks on to whatever is directly in the path of where you shoot from. What I used to do was kinda aim above or to the side of a locked-on enemy when I fired, and it would arc to em. Could be fun to try if you want! EDIT 3: The powers being ineffective isn't a Lite issue, it's that the game does that to make you use a bit more strategy. So like, some biotics are useless against armor, armor sucks against some tech, etc. The power wheel kinda hints at it, but doesn't explain it, so don't feel bad! Basically the powers will be either orange/clear or orange/reddish with a subtle down arrow on it. Red = ineffective against the enemy you're locked onto. I think the goal is to encourage more dynamic use of your squadmates

The Paragon and Renegade "interrupts" (i.e. the LT/RT prompts) were added by Bioware because most players avoided the Renegade options in ME1. This was a shame because some of the Renegade options were the funniest in the game. The new interrupts allow a Paragon Shepard to take a Renegade action occasionally, even if her Renegade score is low (and vice versa). If you don't want to trigger all the Renegade interrupts, I'd recommend using them when dealing with bad guys, and/or races that respect a more direct, assertive approach, like the krogan. Just a suggestion. But, you know... since they're there, why NOT trigger them all?! 😁

Something the game only tells you about in the description for Miranda's (and other later characters') Warp ability: If you use Pull or Singularity on an enemy to make them float, then as they are dangling you use Warp on them, it creates a huge combo biotic explosion. I'm surprised ME2 didn't have a tutorial about it when Jacob and Miranda were your only teammates, since it's such a powerful move. They expand on this idea in ME3 where it's nearly impossible to not trigger combos for tech and bionics all over.

Biotic/tech abilities are sensitive early on. Abilities like Pull and Throw are ineffective against armor/shield/barrier enemies. Once you see a red health bar they become fair game. Other biotic abilities like warp are great against armor. The easiest way to check is bring up your power wheel. If the enemy highlighted makes a power icon turn red, it's ineffective, if it stays yellow it is good.

Against barriers, shields or armour they don't do much except maybe stun them a little, until you strip the shields. Sticking the welder into Cathka, before the fight was a good decision as it meant the gunship appeared at half health, as opposed to at full health if you hadn't dealt with him. I don't know if anyone else has said it, so: Gaining renegade or paragon points does not detract from the other. If you take one paragon action and one renegade action, they don't cancel each other out -- you just gain a little of both. So using the contextual action (when you hit a trigger to do something dramatic), you will not directly lose anything. However, those actions can potentially alter the course of an encounter. For example, if someone threatens you, and a Renegade context action pops up which results in you shooting that person, you may miss out on gaining paragon points during the conversation that would have happened if you didn't shoot them.

AND THIS IS WHY I TOLD YOU ABOUT THE RECRUITMENT ORDER! 😁 I knew you'd love that interaction between Grunt and Garm. Knowing how impressed Grunt is with you already warms the heart. 🥰 Unfortunately, you missed the section to get to know Zaeed better. At 39:07, if you had kept going over to that guard standing by the "UTILITY" sign, you would have been able to meet Tarak, the Blue Suns leader, as well as Jentha, who you fight here: 1:06:03. Zaeed and Tarak know each other, and it's revealed that Zaeed is connected to the Blue Suns. It's much more common for people to get this unique dialogue since Zaeed is RIGHT THERE on Omega. I'm happy you were able to experience the exceptionally rare cutscene with Grunt. I hope you remembered to take him and Garrus with you to get Mordin, despite the danger. It's well worth it! 👍🏼 - 5:07 - In the unlikely event that a player DOESN'T take Wrex with them to get Fist in ME1, and then spares Fist, he ends up at this spot, drinking away his sorrows. You basically have the exact opposite interaction with him that you do with Helena Blake. He HASN'T bettered his life, and it almost seems like he'd rather you NOT have shown him mercy. 😂 24:27 - This is one of the reasons why I ultimately prefer ME1. I appreciate the curated level design that they give to each location in ME2, but I miss the expansiveness and sense of exploration from the first game. Everything in the sequel looks great, but it feels much smaller. 56:30 - You got Renegade points because you chose "You need help." instead of "I'm not leaving you alone." Weird that they made that distinction, but one of them is on the bottom and one is on the top, so there you go. 😛 1:02:56 - Oh, trust me. Insanity is WAY more difficult. 😉 1:12:07 - If you're male Shepard, Garrus says he was always gettin' the ladies, so now Shepard has a fair shot. 🤣 - Huh. It looks like they nerfed Pull. In the OG version, if you could target someone, you pulled them. There wasn't a projectile that could whiff. Just so you know, since Zaeed and Kasumi were added later, they don't get cutscenes. Clicking on them lets you hear their dialogue. Once you've clicked on them enough times, they'll let you know they're done talking for now, and you can leave and come back for more next time.
@KlooKloo Жыл бұрын
Only your teammates' abilities hit instantly. All of Shepard's have a projectile. Except overload, shield drain, Reave, and SLAM. Once Slam is available as a bonus loyalty power, it really kicks ass, since the initial lift portion of the move can open a target up for a Warp explosion. You can quickly Slam/Warp for a combo explosion.

1:07:08 Biotic powers have been nerfed, unless otherwise stated they do not affect any opponent with shields, barriers or armor(so don'texpect to lift or throw many opponents). As far as I know there are only two that are still great with armor or barriers and that's warp(double damage on barriers and armor) and reave(double damage on barriers and armor/companion ability). Singularity still has uses as though it won't lift anybody not stripped down to their health(red) bar a high leveled one can push shielded, barriers or armored enemies back acting as a bit of a wall.

What I do like is how every crew member could have their own commentary on the mission. I think this was the case in all three games. I don't know how different the lines would be, but they may essentially carry the same points. There seem to even be ways a scene can play out in unique ways depending on who you bring on a mission, like the scene with Garm and Grunt. I never got that scene because I never brought Grunt for this mission. Interesting thing I thought about with Zaeed and Kasumi when I played through Mass Effect 2 with their DLCs purchased for the first time. The fact that the developer must've taken time to add in their lines to a majority of the content in this game where other crewmembers already have lines recorded is neat. So seeing Zaeed comment on the mission where you're recruiting Archangel is fascinating because before his DLC, his lines weren't ever in the game or in this mission. They tried to make sure Kasumi and Zaeed felt like they were always in the game. There is a noticeable drawback though to them being added in afterwards. If you talk to them on the ship like you would any other crewmember, you'll notice that you can't ask them questions or have an in-depth conversation, like you can with the characters who were part of the base game. They just give you random stories of their lives or comment on whichever story mission you just did. Still worth checking in with them though

Zaeed is on the same level as Grunt, just in the opposite direction. He's like Kasumi. You can talk to him like 3 times, and he will make a comment or tell a short story.

If a renegade trigger pops up and you skip it. It is usually followed by a paragon trigger or dialog option. You have to commit 100% if you end up in the middle. Your going to wind up with the worst outcomes.

ME2 has most of the best Renegade interrupts in the series while you're working for Cerberus to make up for the last game favoring Paragon.

Renegade points don't take away points from the paragon bar, and some of the renegade options can be quite helpful. Giving in to the renegade prompt here and there isn't a big deal, but some of the renegade choices are quite severe, while others are just funny, or as I mentioned before, helpful. Yeah, while you were distracted by your itchy face, Garrus got torn to shreds by the gunship 😂 And even though you suspected who Archangel was, your reaction to the Garrus reveal was great! I think you'll really like having Garrus on the Normandy, especially if you can get him to focus on something else other than the damn calibrations 😆 And he has a new shiny armor waiting for him on the squad select screen, instead of the one that got all banged up in the gunship encounter. By the way, Zaeed is on the engineering deck, and Kasumi is on the crew deck.

Kasumi is located on the 3rd level of the ship, the Crew Deck I think its called. As you exit the elevator, Kasumi will be chilling in the far room of the right hallway. And yeah, Kelly Chambers is a great character (woman by the galaxy map), she has comments on every new companion you bring onto the Normandy.

I am sure someone already said this but I will reiterate in the hopes that you see this amongst other helpful comments. Renegade/paragon triggers are always good to do as it's another way to increase karma but keep in mind that if you don't have one meter full to a certain point then you will probably miss out on paragon/renegade choices further in the game. Also the reason why your biotics weren't working was because most enemies have armor, shields, or both you need to take these things out before you think about using powers if you don't that will simply just tickle enemies and not do anything aside from staggering them for a bit. Next is about health, Shepherd is basically wolverine without the claws they heal on their own same for companions, you could use medi-gel to heal but as long as you don't take damage for a few seconds you will heal for health and shields, taking cover also helps so that you heal health/shields faster. Last point, last EP you were trying to find certain crew members on the Normandy and I thought it was pretty obvious to find them considering you can literally see the names of the crew members on every section of the ship when you open the elevator menu there name hangs on the right bottom of the screen below the description of a section, I really hope you see this or any other comments that mention what I said because to see you trying to find certain crew members across the Normandy was pretty aggravating considering you just read the names on the elevator menu and these areas are not big in the slightest so finding them is no hard task. Ps- why did you not defend the quarian when she was being accused of stealing the credit chit, after having found the chit you could've paragon triggered the cutscene and could've spoken up about the c-sec officer and volus being terrible people defending the quarian, watching that Trigger pass you by while you simply looked confused and saying how those guys where just being dicks to this another person that did nothing wrong(probably the best trigger you didn't do), as a full renegade player myself I always chose this one paragon choice because fuck bullies

You may assign shortcuts for powers in combat like LB, RB, Y buttons for charge, shockwave, healing or any other powers of your choice, it will make using powers easier ehile pointing gun and no need to open power selection menu everytime during combat
@redacted1093 Жыл бұрын
22:42 It doesn't subtract anything from Paragon but the scores are percentage based now so if you build up 20% Renegade you can only have 80% Paragon so it's possible to screw yourself out of Paragon options by doing too many Renegade choices or triggers and vice versa.

We all love the OG crew but it makes total sense that you can't have them immediately, it hasn't been a long time for you but for them it's been 2 years so of course they had to move on. You got Garrus back and saw Tali already, plus the Illusive Man told you where Liara and Wrex are. So it's not like they're gone forever or being replaced by the new crew, the family is just getting bigger :)

The blue triggers that you see on the bottom Paragon and Renegade Paragons are usually compassionate options. As you pulled up the squad you'll see that at the bottom of Shepherd your Shepherd is compassionate that's the Paragon route Renegade of a lot more ruthless. I also made a female Shepherd I played this Trilogy countless times and my female Shepherd is ruthless and willing to get our hands dirty no matter the cost. She'll show her compassionate side once in awhile but mostly she's Renegade. Glad to see you having fun Mass Effect 2 is a great game. And if you keep doing Renegade your scars will show up a lot more but if you doing Peregrine it will heal naturally over time. In my case for my shepherd she was ruthless and she had the Renegade route but I had the health upgrade for the medical Bay while I was able to fix my scars.

Shockwave can go through cover so its great for knocking enemies out of it. it also recharges very quickly so its a good power to hot key so you can use it often and easily. I think it's the best power in ME2, though Liara's singularity is a close 2nd. It's just my opinion though. You are doing great ! Keep having fun ! 😉

Renegade and paragon is separate your main objective is to maximize your charm on one side. So you do want to decide ahead of time what path you want. So in some cases where you are following the paragon charm there may time the renegade option will flash on your screen in some case. In some cases it all right to choose that but other times not. I found a morality guide that helps maximize your charm to the fullest.

If an enemy has shields, don't bother trying to use 'Pull' on them. It won't work. Also, you can only increase your paragon and renegade points. You'll never lose them. Don't be afraid to have a drink on Omega. It can lead to interesting interactions.
