Another brilliant exposition! Kasparov plays such a dynamic game. Thanks Sammy for your insightful and sometimes witty commentary.

Sammy's move by move commentary brings back wonderful memories of Logical Chess, Move by Move, by Irving Chernev, my first chess book.

Beautiful chess. He never panicked and never defended unless it was a true necessity to survive. Insightful chess! You do a great job walking through the game. Keep it up 👍

The first game you analyze is an Anti-Marshall variation of the Ruy Lopez. Apparently, Kasparov was not up to face the Marshall Attack. Since he seemed to play the Ruy Lopez frequently, I wonder if he had ever allowed the Marshall Attack. It would be interesting to see how he defended against it. I did a little research and found a 1978 game Kasparov played against Tal. Kasparov was white and Tal played the Marshall Attack. Kasparov allowed it. The game ended in a draw, however. Here is that game: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4CvlXuih8qWbKc

I think Kasparov wants to be the guy attacking, not defending against an attack. Makes sense to me if he didn't go into the Marshall too much

I love your commentary but you need to pronounce Kasparov's name correctly. The primary stress is on the second syllable, not the first. After all, he may be the greatest player of all time.
