I think "your creation" just meant the half-built tripwire. The pop-up appeared when you were standing where the rope would go, so it's probably an attempt to prevent instant death when placing the rope. note that the wording was "in the way of", not the "in front of" that you started using after seeing the prompt

I'm just waiting for the finale, where I half expect us to find out there was never any kid, and the main character is actually a givanium critter as well, that everyone is, for some reason, convinced is human, and that has been programmed to 'look for their kid.'
