Garter carriage lubrication

My garter carriage kept stopping along a row the last time I used it I'm going to have another go at it as at first I thought it was.my pacemaker that was causing it is there anywhere in Scotland repairs them if I'm unsuccessful I use a brother 965 machine with motor all needles are intact my son is going to get it down for me today you're video has been very helpful my carraige is a k95 thanks for all the information

Sounds like you either need to tear it all the way down to clean it, or you might need a new motor. I have only changed a few motors in my time, I have not torn apart a garter carriage to the frame yet.

You should never use a spray only grease, the spray washes out the grease and eventually the garter carriage runs dry, the grease is very important to keep it running. The garter carriage should be completely stripped down cleaned and re greased

I use both a spray lithium grease as well as a semi solid called "super lube" My goal is to completely take apart one of the garter carriages and put it back together.
