I love this 12 month project idea. Last year I found 18 projects. I numbered them all and got started. I stayed on track until I got bit by feral cat on my right hand. It took me 3 months to get over that. I have my boxes numbered and ready to start again. Thank you for sharing this idea!!!

I made a great start last year but eventually fell by the wayside although I kept watching. I am just going to carry forward my unfinished projects from last year. I won't have 12 projects listed but one project is a long term hand sewn hexie quilt so I will focus on that in the month's I don't have a project listed. I do sew a lot as I am part of Project Linus UK Northumbria and usually make 4 quilts every month for our region. I am drowning in scraps so love your 2.5" jelly roll series. I have a plan to spend 15 mins every day cutting my older scraps into pre-cut sizes and, going forwards, cutting new project scraps immediately I finish a project. Looking forward to following you again this year. Happy New Year!

For those newbies, beginner quilters, and even more efficient quilt enthusiasts who do not have 12 projects to finish a Project Minus quilt would be a wonderful gap filler.

This makes me happy that you have such a variety of projects coming up this year. I’m going to just let you pick a number and work on whatever UFO I have that is similar-because I DEFINITELY have at least one that is similar for each of the 12.
@annolsen82762 күн бұрын
When I saw the 2015 Row By Row on the list, my 1st reaction was, "Oh no, I have to add that to my list now." I did make 2 quilts from the patterns for my daughters in 2016, but I still have the "license plates" and one kit to make. I really liked your projects and this process, though last year I kept getting sidetracked by my brain wanting to do something else, and this year, my list has about 30 things on it.

I enjoyed seeing the 12 projects for this year and can relate to some of them. I am excited to see your January choice. It is an ambitious project. But, as you said, the object is to make progress each month. Finished is great but not always possible in one month. Loved seeing the blocks you made last year. Happy new year😊

Happy New Year, Shelley! I’m doing Karen Brown Just Get It Done Quilts’s 21 Days to Declutter. Today’s question is “Is this garbage?” So I spent about half an hour picking up garbage and then I organized some fabric into an art bin and I cleaned my machine. So-great first day! 😀 I’m always SO impressed by your productivity! I will enjoy watching your progress again this year. My first project is going to be a Burgoyne Surrounded-and as I collected fabric this evening (this quilt has been in the rotation for a LONG time!) the receipts for this fabric said-yes, you guessed it-December 2015! So-only 9 years, not 10! 😂😂😂 For the past two years, I’ve made five quilts per year; so that’s my goal this year, too. Instead of numbering them, I’ll just slog through them. 😳 I’ll be watching, Shelley! ❤

Oh my, you have really inspired me to finish what hasn’t been finished yet! I like to call them WIPS (works in progress)! (Not my invention! ). I have my projects divided up into baggies instead of tubs, but some of them even contain notes so I dont forget what it was going to be! This means I have to give the baggies a number so I know which one I will be working on! To make it random I will have my husband put the numbers in each baggie, so I won’t know until he’s finished which one is number 4.

It is a good month to tackle big things. It will be amazing and feel so good to get done. I have only one abandoned project. I did not have the skills to complete it. I have all my projects in the same type of sterlite bins. The clear shoe boxes and the next size up which I think is 16 qts. I never thought to number them. This is genius. I was on the right track until I had a stroke 3 years ago. I'm back to working on my sewing and although I don't have my shop anymore, this is so helpful because I had such a hard time with staying organized. Some days I would just sit and cry feeling non functional. I'm like DUH....numbers on the boxes. A lot of my boxes just had someone's name on it. Ideas I had for particular people. My granddaughters, My son's, my nieces and nephews , my sisters and friends. Sometimes if an occasion was coming up like showers and birthdays etc.... I had boxes ready to go. But, Some had nothing on them for other random projects. The numbers are a dream come true. I'm like... why didn't I think of doing it this way?? This is such a relief for me. I miss my shop 'sew' much though. I had a sewing station for every product I made. All had their own cutting stations as well. I made all kinds of bags. Beach bags, diaper bags, grocery, pocket books and totes. Kitchen items with matching curtains. Little black dresses and sundresses with hats. I could go on and on. I sound like I was really organized, don't I?? LOL NOT!!!! Your idea with numbering the boxes is genius for me, but I will still put other notes on them. The numbers are just great for prioritizing because some days I would stop and try to decide what I want to work on first for the day. I'd spend so much time trying to decide and now the numbered boxes will decide for me. Especially since I got sick. I love it!!! I can finally stop feeling confused now that everything from my shop is in my house. The garage, spare room turned into a sewing room, and now my dining room LOL. And I still have a ton of bins in the basement that haven't been sorted through. I'm on a roll though and this helped me with my malfunctioning brain so much. Strokes suck but I'm still alive and I have to get this done. Almost 71 and God only knows how much time I have left. My family will lose their minds if I leave them with a mess. I wish I had someone to pass all this down to. Maybe with a few prayers, God will send someone my way who will take a great interest in what I've done so far in my life. I would love to get back into a brick and mortar setup. Not so sure that will happen anytime soon. Thanks again for this great video and it's something I can expand on. You opened my eyes. God Bless You!! And now....does anyone know a house keeper? I don't have time anymore since I'm so busy with my sewing. LOL ... Oh and thanks for not playing ridiculous music in the background. Nothing worse with some of these videos. My confused stroke brain couldn't handle it before the stroke. What a relief that was. LOL I love watching yours.
