Garth, a phenomenon & not only because he managed to play a fragment of Chopin in the sequence 'Renaldo & Clara'. His mother wanted the members of the Hawks, later called the Band, to pay Garth for his participation because she had paid for Garth's piano lessons. Many more anecdotes I remember, but it is so sad that he had to leave us. Be blessed, Garth. dolphio

They performed for us at the Phila. Folk Fest while they where all alive , a fond memory .RIP Band of Big Pink.

They were the same band with a different name.

They started out with Ronnie Hawkins, then went out on their own, that is when Dylan became aware them, and they played with him. There are several clips here on Utube with Robbie and Dylan, and Rick as well from 1965 and 66.
