The carpool singing is as I see it a variation on the famous Gavin & Stacy christmas scene when he is singing with Gavin "Do they know its christmas". James tried to be in a boy band when he was young & idolized Take that.This feels genuine unlike the current carpool Karaoke which is just a repetitive gimmick & can be quite cringy.

Actually, he had paid long before the press even came out with the stupid story. What do you mean by "he got caught"? You make it sound like he did something illegal - tax evasion - and lied about how much he earned. He had declared where he had invested his money, just like the other thousands of investors had. It took your state 10 years to make up its mind whether that scheme was legal or not - how was Gary, who was only following his counsellors' advice, supposed to know that that company would register losses when he first invested his money? When he had the suspicion that something was wrong, he paid the taxes for the money he had invested, period. His ex-manager has cleared this out ages ago, but of course the papers never bothered to publish the truth, because it goes against their policy of bashing Gary. Gary's solo donations of millions of pounds, from his 2012 solo tour were more than enough to compensate for whatever tax he may have owned, but then again, nobody reports that. If he truly were greedy, it would have suited him better to keep those millions earned from touring and pay the tax - that way, he'd have made a profit. But, as I said, the tax had long been paid and, even so, he still donated all those millions to charities. That's why I stick up for him. I hate to see a good man destroyed once again by stupid papers, who never bother with the truth.
