I love Gary Clark Jr. I love his unapologetic sound. It's painful to watch you interview a man who speaks with his guitar and singing and we all know what he means.... What a musical gift he is!! But THIS LAND is a much more honest expression of America than #ThisIsAmerica can ever attempt to be. Genuine and powerful. It's not done to entertain, it's done to speak a truth with spectacular precision. Did I mention that I love this man's music?? Also his style!

I'm trying to figure out how being a South African fits in your comment...
@adamstrachan29075 жыл бұрын
@@SikiDlanga that is quite simple. As a South African Trevor should know how music/ arts always transcended politics and unified all people. The only reason he is on the show is because of Gary's anti-trump message rather that to showcase his genius and promote his art. These artists who use their platform to speak truth don't need to be patronized by talk show hosts with a political agenda. I am a fan of Trevors too but feel this was a low point. I wish he had kept quite and let Gary speak rather than trying to direct the conversation.

@@adamstrachan2907 Except 1. this is a political show 2. GCJ wrote a politically charged song in a politically divisive moment and 3. GCJ didn't have to accept the invite on the show. Last thing, it's Trevor's show and it's an interview format, ergo Trevor asks questions. Nope, this is the last thing, GCJ OBVIOUSLY doesn't want to be identified merely as a guitar player, so to say that he is would be an insult.

There's a line that one crosses when racist comments are made, but there is a danger of diluting the impact when a minority blames someone of racism, like Gary Clark, Jr did in using me as "inspiration" to finish writing a racist victim song called "This Land", reportedly through the recommendation of his wife’s LEO associate bodyguard! Clark “earned” three Grammys for a tall tale of me going to his front door yelling racial slurs - a far stretch from the truth in the artistically licensed song, but Gary continues to gaslight is new neighbors in interviews, as recently as two weeks ago on Howard Stern, again. The truth is he was furious at MY front gate one morning, a week after he purchased the property after he had opened his own gate allowing my donkey to enter his 50 acre goat field. I meekly asked whether I could retrieve grandma donkey from his field, and Clark sneered, and said "nah". I simply asked the irate stranger on a brand new Polaris if he owned the property, while gathering my thoughts on how else to retrieve my 25 year old arthritic donkey. Clark lowered his head and said “I just live here”. I found that strange, but just asked why I couldn’t lure GD with a bucket of corn. He sneered again, and shrugged his shoulders - in front of his child, at my front gate. Today, Gary continues to describe his hateful racist neighbor (me) in interviews with Good Morning America, Howard Stern, Good Morning America with recantations that are completely made up! His wife confided that “some other neighbors” did say some “mean things” to her husband Gary, and assured me “it was just for fun”. But, fun for who? Not me. What little credibility I may have is clearly tarnished further with false allegations of racial slurs by a professional musician that baited the whole event. During concerts, Gary is known to refer to me by saying “the boy wasn’t raised right”. Now, we’re talking about my mother, and father. That makes me “hotter than panther piss”. That kind of gaslighting brings out the worst in people who are targeted for "acceptable collateral damage" reverse-race card victimization , and is unnecessary. Blacks have enough truthful examples of racism to use in Blues lyrics for any man to lower himself to the level of making up stories for competitive, or financial, gain using a "government irritant" already as bait by setting up a naive white neighbor plaintiff lawyer to be a Conservative middle aged racist neighbor raging over "This Land". I'm not suggesting white people should be considered "a special class", but why would Gary Clark's friends, "the judge", and "the governor" support a lifelong "racial victim" who pulls lyrics out of his . ..ear" and calls it "truth"? I've offered Mr. Clark the services of a law enforcement associated polygraph examiner to prove "his side of the fence" version of facts, and $1,000.00 for his time, but he refused.

"The REST of the story" is that Clark came up to his neighbor's front gate, with his child, livid over an elderly donkey that had roamed through his opened gate. The neighbor merely asked whether the donkey could be retrieved, and Clark sneered "nah". That's how the conversation got started. Clark claiming the neighbor walked up to HIS house is slander. Artistic expression in a song, maybe, but twisting the truth to fit Clark's history of reverse race-card victimization is an outrage. "Mr. Williams" poisoned three of four alpacas of the neighbor, which was explained to Clark. Asking Clark whether he owned the house, and goat field was simply an effort to clarify who he was when refusing his neighbor access to lure the donkey out of the field with a bucket of corn. Clark lowered his head replied "I just live here". "This Land" is a spoof intended to belittle a fellow victim rights advocate who Clark had never met.
