The Glitter Band were great musicians. They did a lot more than they get credit for. They were the backing band for the first proper Take That tour, for example. I think they might even still be going. A few years ago I saw them live in Bristol.

A very underrated band, sadly three out of the six have passed away.

I watched this on TV way back then, and it's a reminder of what a great showman he was. I remember a 4 page spread in a now defunct Sunday newspaper that told of what a kind and generous man Gary Glitter was. Everyone who knew him loved him, and no one had a bad word to say about him. Watching him here, you can see how much he loved performing, in fact he did so many 'last' concerts, it makes you wonder if he ever did a 'first', but he certainly had a hard time staying away from the stage. You can bet that no one would ever suspect what we all know now. Shame.

you don't have to look very far to find tens of millions of people that would have plenty of bad things to say about your boy today, compared to your 4 page puff piece in a newspaper back in the day. did he pay the author in money or teen aged girls ?

@@catman4471 yes, i read your entire post. did you ? you spent almost the entire post saying what a wonderful guy he was. no one would say a bad word about him. blah, blah, blah de frickin da. at the end you spend one line saying no one would have suspected him of what we know now. ooooh, that's so harsh, catman. you are a man of steel ! do you know what is a shame ? your dog dying is even worse than a shame. a man abusing eight year old girls for decades in england and then in multiple foreign countries and becoming an international criminal is not " a shame. " it is some of the most degenerate sex crimes anywhere in the world. it is a shame you have no sense of proportion, like most GG suckups on this web page.

@@catman4471 yes, i read your full post. did you read your full post ? you spent 90 % of it describing a newspaper article that deified GG, going on and on about his saintly virtues. no one would say a bad word about him, blah, blah, blah. then the last full sentence, just a single sentence, remarks that no one back in the 70s would suspect what we know now. a scathing, brutal takedown, catwoman. your words cut like a wet noodle. you close with characterizing the entire series of GG's crimes as a " shame. " your lack of any sense of proportion is astonishing. a shame is dropping your bag of groceries on the ground. it is a shame if your cat dies. if a man dupes an entire nation for decades and promotes the abuse of children under 5 years old, while engaging in sex with children under 10 years of age, that is a criminal outrage that some countries punish by death. in fact, GG dodged a death penalty in one of the countries whose children he chose to attack. read your post, catwoman. you sound exactly like all of the other GG apologists and enablers on this web page. groan.

I was there, all of 14 years old - a Glitterbug, knew a few of the band well, such gentlemen and so good to their fans. Very sad what happened and how this lot seemed to take the brunt for what GG did - they were a very talented lot and great entertainers.

All things aside, I still admire his persona, and that gorgeous chest (swoon !! ) as GG was "back in the day " - still luv ya Gary 😍 Thanks for another enjoyable video 😀
