I love that they did this because Haoh is objectively a really smart kid. He's advanced for his age. He's very clever and observant and he fell for CHOCOLATE. He ate the first thing she gave him. He ate something from a stranger. He followed her out. He got in a car. Gary didn't think he'd do that because of how smart he is but it doesn't matter how smart a child is. They're still a child. This really scared me. It was so easy. You have to watch your children.
@BrokenKings4 жыл бұрын
It’s especially scary cause the kidnappers would be persistent and would wear down any cautious child no matter how clever they may be. Even if they got taught well. The criminals know what buttons to push and how to manipulate the child. The bad guys also gaslight kids and use their love for their parents or siblings to trap them. The criminals have all the power. This is why kids are victimized. Its really scary.

This is a lesson to ALL PARENTS, its important to educate kids but also important on how, because u can say it a thousand times but they wont remember. It is never a kid’s fault, at least not 100%. Why? Because even as adults, there are so many that fall for scams and lies, so what do you expect from a kid? Kidnappers are really good at this because its like their “job”, they are skilled, so u gotta be extra skilled and patience to educate your child and YOURSELF. I'll just share this. This happened when I was 9 years old, me and my two sisters (11 yo and 7 yo) went to the convenience store. There was a guy following us in every side of the store we went (to the refrigerator, to the cashier, the table, and the newspaper shelf) and and I noticed it. I told my sisters to run and when we did get out of the convenience store, the man ride the motor and chased us. We ran to our church members (they went to our house often) and the man looks angry. He even stopped to see if our elders (church members) are going away. But we clung to them until our parents arrived. When it comes to strangers, I'm the most alert because I watched scenes where people got kidnapped.

I'm really glad to read this comment. There are also times, besides the kids being lured when the parents aren't around, it could be the parents who can't believe it or is in denial. The manipulator, rapist, etc. sometimes can be the adult is some kind of close adult friend to the family. The child musters up the courage to tell the parents and no ones believes them, when the child already feels shame, scared, and helpless. After hearing these stories, I'm really glad my parents always kept me in their sight as a child and was wary of where I was, who I am with, when I am out late as a teenager, even now as a young adult lol.

What I learned in a talk and after going throw some therapy for abuse. It's that 80% of the abuse are done by some family member, also that parents tend to give some confusing information like when a kid feels uncomfortable when giving a kiss or hug to a family or friends and we make them do it anyway we make them confuse of their own feelings, so later is more easy for another adult make them question why they feel uncomfortable and if they have the right to feel like that. Also the parents who applaud how many kids is so friendly with stranger... That's actually bad.

Hao was stubborn and he was doing well, but the fake kidnapper was patient and determined. This is because they know many things work with kids. If it isn't candy, then it could be toys, if not animals, if not places they think the kid would like to go.. The list of things you can persuade a kid with are endless. So even a smart kid like Hao was going to fall for something eventually.. There's even kidnappers that go to places as a regular, they target a kid and try to approach them some days, so then, slowly but surely a friendship is made with time. That's important, 'cause if you go with your kid to a place regularly make sure you always scan the place and make sure the kid is always playing with other children, never allow them to have a chat with an adult unless you know it's just another parent or a legit neighbour, but be there with your kid. If someone is not from your vicinity or doesn't go often then keep an eye out.

I never got into a situation like this as a child, thankfully. This will make me more cautious than I already am, to also protect my children in the future. This made me learn a lot

I just realized that if real kidnappers would bring out a camera, It would look less suspicious specially for children that are drowned by the internet thinking that " this may be a prank OR for a TV show " that's scary

Even though you educate your children not to follow strangers, it's also the responsibility of the guardians to always be on watch of the children. They are still little, and they would be always swayed of something, one way or another.

I love Gary didn't freak out but, Jini giggling while Gary is asking why Haoh is there and the cameras, make it seem like a game at the end.

In Singapore, when we were young, we were taught not to eat things from stranger or follow them. In the past one of my neighbours' son went missing. Up till now could not trace him. He was around 10 years old then. Never leave your kids unattended.

I really like this kind of show. Its very helpful for those who are watching specially kids.. A lot of lesson you will learn. Good job ROS!

So scary, but important. Even a child as aware and smart as Haoh can fall into temptation and even get into some sort of dangerous situation. He is still a child and is still always learning!

Jini is not a stranger, if he knows her because she is celebrity then it is not. Although the fact he went into her without knowing her aside she’s a tv personality( I assume) that is still bit alarming.
