His point about parents shouting on the touchline whilst their kids play is so true. I played at an academy for a 1st league team when I was younger after being scouted at my school. I was invited to come along and I was pretty good. After 3 months of going twice a week to train and play and getting shouted at by other children's dads, I just couldn't continue. It was horrible and it scared the shit out of me. Really unhelpful and detrimental to the sport. It's unpleasant even for the most determined child

I don't think he was telling us the truth when he said he had an asylum seeker stay with him. Peoples idea of a refugee is not a law student, someone who describes himself as a human rights activist, someone who fears for his safety but leaves their wife behind to face the music if there is any music to face which I doubt. Living with Gary for 20 days, not even a month is hardly taking a refugee in. Its a holiday. His second refugee was Turkish also a university student. Since when were people from Turkey refugees? Apparently he stayed for a month. Again that's not really hosting a refugee, its a holiday my own family have stayed with me for a month in the past. I wonder what the chances of Gary getting to refugees that were both attending university was. I wonder who paid the international student fees for these guys to go to uni?
@Towerwatson5256 жыл бұрын
He feels "sorry for the refugees" Ignoring the fact that most are NOT refugees but economic migrants from Africa- how many does he have living in his mansion? Or does he feels so sorry for them he wants them to live next door to you in Rotherham.
@tonib5899 Жыл бұрын
He has twice housed refugees, giving credence to his compassionate opinions. He did not need to and tried to keep it on the downlow. He helped people who needed help, rather than labelling and judging them. His empathy to other human beings during hard times is not only commendable, it also clearly shows he treats people as humans, which we all are. Illegals,refugees,migrants are still people. We dont have to lose our humanity and compassion when policing our borders.
@Towerwatson525 Жыл бұрын
@@tonib5899 You make no valid pints or articulate any reasons why open door immigration is good for taxpayers in this country? Neither do you show any empathy for the many thousands of victims of violent crimes like Rape, Murder stabbings and committed by illegal's once here. All you do is offer a spaghetti of woke insincere virtue signaling buzz words that are just a pretentious 'look how caring i am" . The reality is that these are economic migrants pick that and choose the best country for their illegal entrance based on what is on offer. This is clear, otherwise none would travel through various safe countries before paying £10k to a people smuggler in France to get arcos the channel to the UK. It is not the responsibility of this small nation or taxpayers to fulfill their will for a better life . Even the most pro open border fanatic argument is flawed; eventually, even those people using basic mathematics can see that there is a limit to what a tiny country like ours can sustain. On a recent Galop poll in Africa it was revealed that 30% wished to move to Europe. So should we accept 750 million migrants because they are 'humans' and we need to show 'compassion' like your posts claims? What's your limit for the Uk;100 or 200 million compassionate acts? Thanks to the far left left Lineker et al openly supporting mass open borders the lines have been blurred so much that the people that our asylum laws were designed to protect are now lost in the sea of these economic migrants and are Unfortuanly then conflated with the illegal activities.
@supercriceto3 ай бұрын
They are not refugees, because they chose to come through multiple safe countries to arrive illegally in the UK. Lineker lives in a very white area in a mansion. His work, his kids' schooling, the language spoken in his local shops, his place on social housing queues. . .none of these issues will trouble him. His opinions are self-regarding virtue signalling at zero real cost to himself but a massive detrimental impact on working class people.

Laurel and Hardy, tongue in cheek, Gary Lineker talking to James O'Brien, one has to smile. Did I really hear Gary Lineker say "I never put out my political views" well Gary you have, it's called Brexit, we have heard your views on it. He went on " they have a go on your thoughts especially if we don't agree with them"? and James O'Brien agreeing. If anyone has listened to the James O'Brien show on LBC, they will probably start choking on their Rich Tea biscuit. If anyone challenges him on his show, he instantly tries to humiliate them and if he doesn't get his own way, he sulks. No one needs any lessons from these couple of strange fellas. Gary, if you genuinely feel so strongly about Brexit, why don't you and the BBC set up a Q & A with members of the public, then you might have greater public respect instead of hiding behind the BBC. They talk, naturally not in depth, about "our children's future" so this odd couple are quite happy for our children to live under an unelected leader of the EU, the German Chancellor, those unelected old men called Commissioners, an unaccountable, corrupt organisation. We should also remind them that NATO and not the EU has kept the peace in Europe. Do we really think Germany will start invading countries again? The phrase ignorance is bliss springs to mind.
