A great interview..or more like a couple of mates chatting. I could almost smell the petrol fumes and hot exhausts from here! Great stuff.

I'm embarrassed to say l have ,or had , no idea who Gary Mavers is. But it's obvious that he and Fuzz have an empathy and respect for one another . And there's no doubt that like Fuzz , Gary is one of those people who seem to have the talent to turn their hand to anything. Thanks .

You might have heard of Gary's older brother Lee, who fronted the band The La's, known for their hit “There She Goes Again.”

I remember seeing that pink car outside Herbert's cottage by Bowring Park, and my dentist's was also on Dinas Lane where Aunty Jin's house is.

I had a Mercedes 230SL. I stripped and rebuilt the engine. The engine is overrated even for the time it was introduced, 1962. It derived from a saloon. I fitted contactless electronic ignition. What a difference! Instant starting. If fully synthetic oils were available at the time I am sure the engine would have been better all around. Low pressure on idle was a problem with those old long stroke engines. Some parts of the car was just bad design. Avoidable.
