Went through some recordings of old Pinkpop performances from 1983 which were broadcasted last summer.
Ran into one of my guitar heroes Gary Moore performing "Nuclear Attack", including keyboard intro. I was and still am a big fan of his guitar sound and work.
Band members:
Gary Moore - Guitar, Vocals
Ian Paice - Drums
Neil Murray - Bass
Don Airey - Keyboards
I thought I better share it. Enjoy it.

Crazy how some guitar players who have nothing to do with metal are more fuckin metal than any of the shredders. Always felt that way about Nugent, intensity and presence like Maiden in spite of cornball shit like cat scratch. It's his playing and Gary's playing, their phrasing and tone is all I'm after, they sounded like giants.

@@michaelschmidt9708I always thought that was a shame. His obvious love of blues meant his shredding was never mindless and he slowed down when it right for the song. He knew when one carefully chosen note could be better than half a dozen. Now with all his skills if only Yngwie understood that!

I know, if ever you try and play like him you have to pump yourself up first, I only manage short bursts, its very intense and a full metal jacket workout. His incredible guitaring really stems from his own dynamic personality like many great artists.

Love it or leave it. I love it. This is when a band went out there and played their asses off. And it was real. No sample tracks or overdubs. This is great. I was just a kid then and remember how true music used to be played. Not like not now when they sample their own crap and lip sync to it. True musicianship is becoming a lost art.

Few guitar players have put more emotion in their solos. Studio or Live Gary just rips your soul apart with those notes and then you start listening close it’s pretty complex playing technically as well. Best of both worlds, I personally just don’t care for 5 million note solos if they have no emotion.
