The bass player's tone is heavenly, to match the remarkable playing. The bass-lines are so significant in Gary Numan songs that it is what drew me to playing bass myself. These two albums set my musical world on fire when they came out in my early teens, and I have been a die-hard fan since. Got to see the 'Living Ornaments' tour and the 'Splinter' tour, both here in Vancouver, BC Canada. While waiting in line for the latter show, the others in line were all talking with me, saying that many of them had been waiting the same decades to see him again, like me. Brilliant songwriting, sounds, singing, and performance. Thanks for so much, Gary.

Thank you Simon and I agree with everyone posting re the bass sound, you picked the right side to record. Really appreciate you posting this. First live music show I ever saw was Gary Numan at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney back in 79/80, so long ago I cannot remember the exact year but I remember the show. He is brilliant live now and and was brilliant live then. He opened with Airlane, very powerful opening. He had great players with him, including Billie Currie. The light show was the best I have seen to date, this current show has similar style. Gary was very disciplined and "in character" for the main part of the show, which worked theatrically, however the encores were an amazing surprise. He came on stage in a red shirt, open necked, slinging his guitar, completely rocking out with We are Glass, and, i think, We are so Fragile. Back for a second encore with earlier material. Might have done a third, he was on stage for more than a couple of hours. He is an incredible musician and entertainer. I purchased every Gary Numan and Tubeway Army release I could get my hands on as a teenager and remain a fan to this day. This brought back so many memories so thanks again for posting Simon.

Man, I am truly impressed with this. Most artist that get older kind of water down their old material, but this sounds just like it did on the live 79/80 album, still had a similar looking set, and back drops, but it's also got a fresh feel to it. I'd love to see this show live. It's like Gary got it right. Awesome job.

I think you've created a reference piece here Simon for any future bandmembers on how to properly do delicious Gardiner/Numan bass, and what the fans expect to hear . I think there was a singer in there somewhere, and i assume a drummer and keyboard player, who who cares, I was much too busy enjoying those guitar heroes, and lapping up that bass, superbly rendered by two masters. Very well done, and thanks for sharing.
