Oh God bless all Irish, women and men!! You should be proud for fighting or not. Because you Irish, as a nation, are so unbelievably talented in every way!! You have suffered terribly but it has never been your own fault. My own country has been suffering also like countless other states. God gave people the freedom to choose good or bad. Unfortunately most people have chosen bad using others like they were no humans at all ... their greed, cruelty, everything they have done to rob the riches belonging to other nations ( like the blood diamonds of south Africa, south America, the land of native Americans... there are absolutely too many examples of choosing bad ). It might interest you to know that they are sort of remembered in song and saga, as the Flight of the Jarls. Jarl was a high title indeed, among the people you call Vikings. Usually only one at a time. Except, of course the Jarls of Orkney. Not even Kings messed with them. (Always excepting Erik Bloodaxe). So, hundreds of years after the Vikings visited Ireland, the Flight of the Jarls made it back to Scandinavia. Isn't that nice? I can guarantee they would not have been impressed by the English Kings at the time. Or Cromwell, later. If the title Earl offends your Republican soul... Jarl was earned.
