Part 10: • Gary Owen on His Ex-Wi...
Part 1: • Gary Owen on Why Drake...
--------
Comedian Gary Owen recently discussed his marriage and subsequent divorce from his ex-wife. Owen admitted to cheating during their marriage but emphasized that infidelity wasn't the reason for their split. He was candid about his affairs, explaining that they never involved emotional attachments and were kept completely separate from his home life. Owen offered advice for those in the entertainment industry, especially younger men with newfound fame and fortune, advising them not to marry in their 20s. Citing the multitude of temptations that come with success, he suggested allowing time for such behavior to be outgrown.
The divorce proceedings involved considerable legal back-and-forth, which both Owen and his ex-wife eventually mediated to avoid excessive costs. Owen stressed that he never intended to financially shortchange his ex-wife, ensuring a fair settlement. Ultimately, he will be paying alimony for ten years. The comedian reflects on this as part of their "great compromise," believing that a balanced settlement often leaves both parties slightly unhappy, marking it fair in their case.

Honestly I have a question, has there EVER been a point in history where men have only been with one woman their entire life? If almost every woman in the world can tell you a story about a man cheating what does that tell you? That it’s not natural for men. I’m not saying it’s impossible and there are no men on the planet who have the ability to be faithful to one woman their entire life, but what do you expect from a man in the entertainment industry or just a man who has options? Like if you were married to a man for 10+ years and he admitted to you (he told you himself, otherwise you would have never known) that he stepped out once, is that really worth throwing the entire family away? And ladies use the word “cheating” so loosely nowadays. Cheating could mean a whole separate relationship, a one time encounter, just even flirting and/or getting someone else’s number. I’ve heard of girls in high school say a boy cheated on them and all he did was be seen walking or holding hands with another girl at school
@dubswe

I agree. The problem with slot of entertainment jobs is you don’t go home to your wife after work, you go home in a month. That’s why costars or like pro wrestlers cheat with each other: i think it’s less the money and groupies as it is the life on the road. The fact she isn’t their. It probably requires more emotional maturity to keep that relationship strong when you have half time to build it and when you need intimacy or the illusion of it and the person is unavailable. I know talking about the former VP pence might not make me any friends on this channel but that’s why I respect his rules about being alone with women both from a visual stand point as a public figure and it creates boundaries to limit intimacy that as a married man that could become inappropriate.

Marriage is not meant to be effeminate pleasure island. It’s meant to be the picking up of your cross to dedicate your life to serving other people (spouse and children) so that you don’t become a narcissistic demon. And the family unit is the building block of human existence. It’s a duty and a responsibility not an enjoyment. The depth of meaning that comes with making that sacrifice will result in joy but there will be lots of struggle on the journey

Vlad do the same rules apply to men? If your woman is making her own money, expect her to cheat

No, our egos are notoriously fragile. Most men lose their ish when the tables are turned. Funny though... Who are cheating men sleeping with... In most cases women who are also in some kinda relationship with another man who has no clue what's going on 😅

why wouldnt he laugh, he wont the genetic lottery and life's lottery. He is a tall, white, blond blue eyed man in a world were each of those traits makes life a lot easier for you, plus he apparently has a funny bone and is equipped with the necessary confidence to make it in the entertainment world, which he sort of did. He has all the reasons to genuinely content. Other than his kids not talking to him for 3 years, but that's par for the course.

Another issue with entertainers that Gary and Vlad didn’t bring up and may not think about is travel and time. Not just you have access to other partners you don’t have access to your partner as often especially when you have resources and are young. Like he said he never brought it home.
@maxmeier532
@maxmeier532 21 күн бұрын
first off, you always bring something home. Whether it's the herpes or the general disregard you obviously have for the relationship with your wife. He was living a lie, and he pretended with her. He didnt tell her in advance how it will be and whether she wants to stay in this. He didnt give her the option to make her own choice. Instead he lied to her when he was home and when he wasnt. What does it tell you about a person, when he sits there with you and your common kids at the breakfast table and is all shiny and happy, and 2 days earlier he effed some chick in a hotel room, fully knowing, this has to stay secret because you are married and your wife wouldnt condone it. It's somewhat sociopathic, even more so since he now laughs it off and rationalizes it. Like, come on, I had no choice but to cheat on my wife. If he realizes he suddenly gets models and he feels like he wants that, he should get a divorce or at least tell your wife and see the consequences like a man.

you have to separate child support and alimony. The wife stayed at home and raised the kids. He made the big money, she held down the castle. It's fair she gets money. The 10 years doesnt tell you anything, since we dont know the amount of money she gets every year. Since he dodged getting served by her but instead served her in a preferable state, and he cut a deal with her, it can be assumed that he got a good deal for himself.

No Vlad, it shouldn't be expected, or acceptable for either party to cheat. The "cheatee" CAN forgive and forget, but you can't blame them if they do. If you're not serious about marriage, don't take the vows. If you can't help but sleep around when you're on the road, change careers. Such a weird question to ask.
@jessesevens

I think it’s funny because if the shoe was on the other foot they’d be like why are you cheating on the bag in reality I just think people in general should manage expectations and people should also not lie where it’s unnecessary like if you marry someone you commit to them you don’t have to nobody is forcing you too so just be honest if you want change you want to be with somebody else just express that but I think it’s lame to lie as a man your word is supposed to mean something right so why lie your rich in your 20’s why lie you have plenty of options just keep it real don’t play with people as a rich man I feel you have even less reason to lie to a woman because you have more options if she isn’t down you can easily find someone else who is
