OMG This brought tears to this 62 y/o mans eyes. Such wonderful memories to this music 🥹🥲. Oh my where have the years gone? I still love going to concerts I wish tickets weren't so expensive 😔. They are the one thing I have found that makes me feel young again. For those couple of hours I take a trip back in time. I always hate it when the show comes to an end.

Met him in 1971 - I was 23, he was 29. Owner of club where he played introduced us - I was a musician also. We ended up going to his hotel room where we talked & talked about everything & anything for a good 3 hours! As he walked me to the elevator, he sang Young Girl to me! Awesome!

I have loved him ( Gary) since 1968.I have all of the vinyls/tapes and cds. I had the pleasure of meeting him in Savannah, Ga. After the concert he stepped down and signed autographs and just talked. I felt like a groupie, lol. One of the most underrated musicians. I wish him many more years of success and happiness.

Remembering these songs, beautifully written, arranged and sung by Gary P and the Union Gap band, is such a marvel for me, because as your band was taking off, I was only around 10 years old. But not too young, that I didn't take notice, because I definitely did. No one sings with such depth of feeling as Gary.

My uncle wayne was19 I was 12 I have this album he committed suicide at age 19 my son wayne also died aged 26 ...these songs are memories of much loved music regardless of sad memories yet so much cherished xx

LOL, except they were not written by Gary or any members of the Union Gap. They became unhappy with performing songs written by others and that was their demise. Had they remained under Jerry Fuller, they most likely would have had another 6 gold records. They were the best until they decided not to stay in their lane. But, alas, they are not alone. Many great bands broke up for stupid, selfish reasons.

When I hear names I haven’t heard in a while, I first look to see if they are still alive. Then I see how they look and sound and if they are still performing. Good to see Gary is one of the ones that doesn’t look like it’s all gone completely. He at least looks good for his age.
